VH1's 20189 Trailblazer Honors celebrated some of today's legends in the making. And TheYBF.com was on the scene. Find out what presenter Samira Wiley exclusivelytold us and more inside...
VH1 Trailblazer Honors was an inspirational mood as it celebrated today's most respected politicians, entertainers, artists, activists, allies and icons who have dedicated their time and steadfast commitments to the women's movement and beyond. It's an annual tradition of celebrating those who have gone before and paved a way for others all while achieving greatness themselves.
This year's honorees included fab directress Ava DuVernay, #METOO founder Tarana Burke, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Canadian poet Margaret Atwood. And what better way to kick off Women's History Month than giving honor to some bomb females busting down barriers.
YBF correspondent Yolande Edmé was on the scene and caught up with several fab chicks, including "Handmaid's Tale" actress Samira Wiley. The former "Orange Is The New Black" starlet shared how this one thing in particular made her Hollywood experience like no other. And it had everything to do with powerful women. Of course. We're MAGIC.
Check out our quick chit-chat with the YBF actress, plus our convo with author Luvvie Ajayi, and "RuPaul's Drag Race" contestant/Everyday Trailblazer honoree Peppermint below:
