Buku Abi is MORE than just R. Kelly's daughter and she wants everyone to know it. Watch the "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta" star open up about living in his shadow in our exclusive sneak peek inside....

It must be hard being Buku Abi (born Joann Kelly)- eldest daughter of embattled singer R. Kelly. Throughout her entire life, rumors have swirled about her dad allegedly sexually abusing minors. Ish has really hit the fan now that the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer has been arrested on federal sex crime charges and denied a bond release.

On tomorrow's night episode of "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta," Buku opens up to co-stars Tammy Rivera, Ayana Fite, and Bow Wow's mom, Teresa Caldwell, about what it's like living in her father's shadow. She's sick of it.

"My dad being R. Kelly, it's been hard for me to have my own identity in my life," she shared.

She said she's trying to make her own lane in the music game as a singer-songwriter and she doesn't want to just be known as Kelly's daughter. Understandable, for sure.

Peep the clip below:

You can catch the full episode when it airs Thursday, July 18th at 9/8c.

In case you missed, here's the latest following R. Kelly's bond getting denied and more HERE.

EXCLUSIVE 'GUHH' SNEAK PEEK: Bow Wow's New 'Girlfriend'– With Bags In Tow – Says She's Moving In & Taking Over!

Bow Wow is back to his old ways and seemingly has a new "girlfriend." Well, she thinks she's his girlfriend and she's ready to claim her spot in his home. Check out our exclusive "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta" sneak peek before tonight's episode inside...

It doesn't seem like Bow Wow has learned his lesson when it comes to jumping into new relationships.

On tonight's episode of "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta," Bow Wow's new "girlfriend" is taking over. Well, at least she thinks so. Chick rolls up in his crib with a whole suitcase, making demands, and questioning who has been in the home while she wasn't there. We were told this is the same chick who is his ex-girlfriend Kiyomi Leslie's friend who he was boo'd up in the club with. But we're not totally sure about that.

"We're still not in a commited relationship. In due time it can get to that point," the "GUHH:ATL" star said about his new main squeeze.

Oh? Does she know that? He mentioned he thought everything was good with his last relationship and rushed into things and we all saw how that ended up. Jail.

See what happens when one of Bow's homies tells his new "girlfriend" some "h*es" had been chillin' at the crib while she wasn't there below:

Here's more:

Justin Reese – Star of Bravo’s 'Southern Charm New Orleans'– Spills The Tea We've Been Wanting From Men In Relationships (Plus, An Exclusive Finale Sneak Peek!)

He's a lawyer - so he's knows how to perfectly navigate a grilling session. But we still got the tea we came to get from Justin Reese, star of the hit Bravo show "Southern Charm New Orleans".  Why do men often do everything with "the love of their life" but give them a ring?

Plus, we've got the exclusive sneak peek at the season finale!

As a personal injury lawyer and sports agent from New Orleans, Justin Reese is a prominent figure in his community and is involved in plenty community endeavors. But what’s really the talk of the town - and reality TV - is his relationship with co-star and girlfriend, nurse Kelsey Nichols,as their drama plays out on the show. So, we caught up with Mr. "I'm waiting for the right time" Reese to do some fact-checking!

Justin and Kelsey have moved in together and have renovated a whole house together (atop). But she remains a girlfriend - for now - and folks have questions (like, is her name on the deed or nah?).

When it came to redesigning his childhood home on the show, which was torn apart from Hurricane Katrina, Justin credited his girlfriend for being a huge inspiration for it all.

“Kelsey and I are both big HGTV fans, so we would watch stuff to get ideas. I never was a fan of Pinterest, she had me making a Pinterest account and the next thing you know I’m saving stuff, it was cool but then it got really overwhelming because it's so much stuff out there and we had a contractor we were working with and a designer- two ladies that were a mother-daughter duo," Justin dished to us. "They were not just interior decorators, they’re designers. They help you pick the hardware floors, the cabinets, the countertops. They made our lives so much easier. They helped streamline the process even more."

However, Justin admitted they went way over the budget during the process.

“Man, I went over $100,000 over budget, 100 grand in cash. That’s a lot! And I’m thinking to myself, we need to move to the next step so how do I do this? I had to pump the brakes a little bit and slow down. I had to cut a lot of things off. I used to spend a lot of money, but I went back to shopping at Macy’s and taking my clothes to the tailors. I started saving thousands of dollars. I had to go on a really strict budget to get comfortable again.”

Come through financial plan! Yet and still, Kelsey clearly wasn't trying to hear it, because she has definitely brought up the question about when they're going to take that next step. Multiple times.

 photo Screen Shot 2019-08-07 at 2.41.49 PM_zpsrhazgrfv.png

Now, let’s get to the nitty gritty of why you really clicked on this post. We all want - read, NEED - to know: Where the ring at Justin?! *City Girls voice*

“Well you gotta watch how everything plays out this season,” said Reese.

The real question is, why the wait? Why are men seemingly waiting so long to pop the question when they already claim to know who they want to spend the rest of their life with? Justin explains it's not so much the marriage part as to why men are scared to jump the broom, but more of the fear of not being able to provide.

“Well, speaking for the good guys that want to take care of his family and his future wife. Being a provider - I take pride in being able to provide for Kelsey,” Justin said. "It's not that I pay 100 percent on everything, she chips in and she’s a big part of my life. She definitely pulls weight as well. I just feel like as a man, that’s my job."

We gotta say, we love the maturity and honesty.

He also mentioned that with marriage comes more responsibility than a lot of men can handle.

“As men, we put a lot more pressure on ourselves than necessary, but you want to hold it down. That's what it feels like to be a man,” Justin said. "A lot of the responsibilities of getting engaged, planning a wedding...a lot of that falls on us. We’re past being 25 and having our parents pay for it. It's on us."

Speaking of parents (Justin's dad is a prominent Civil District Court judge and his mom is a philanthropist), when it comes to his family and Kelsey getting along, Justin says it's all good on his side.

“My mom [pictured above with Kelsey] loves Kelsey. She’s really taken to Kelsey, and they have their own relationship which is really nice to see. My mom invites her to do philanthropic work, takes her to different organizations to network and build relationships..."

Sweet!

And about all that drama going on between Kelsey and their married co-star Tamica Lee, who seemingly has smoke for Kelsey every time they see each other, we had to ask. Does Tamica have a thang for the kid?

Justin assures it’s nothing like that.

“Tamica is in love with her husband [Barry Lee, both pictured above on far right] and Barry and I have become really good friends over the years, we built our own friendship," said Justin. "He’s like a big brother to me. Tamica is just very possessive and territorial. She always says 'I’m just looking out for you'. She takes it too far. I think she wants to be the alpha cat in the group and all roads and gates have to go back to Tamica.”

Whewww chile. So since we couldn’t get the ring talk out of Reese, we're just gonna have to wait and see what’s gonna go down in the N.O. for the rest of the season.

If you're of a certain age, you know Da Brat's style aint dancing it up & twerking something while performing on stage. So her confrontation with professional dancer and co-star Drea Kelly seemed bound to happen, especially since Deb Antney is trying to get Brat to do-wop-pop-pop these days.

An exclusive first look at tonight's episode of "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta" inside.

Da Brat aint trying to dance, and especially isn't trying to be taught by Drea Kelly. After she (and Bow Wow too) had plenty to say about Drea's accusations about R. Kelly, it's difficult to determine the real reason she's not trying to be around Drea.  Drea doesn't know either.

In tonight's "GUHH: ATL" episode, Brat - who is now managing other artists on "The Rap Game" - shades the hell out of Drea to her face. And maintains she's staying in her tomboy "I just pull up my pants and od the Rockaway" steez. Check it:

Whew.  Hunty.  "The Real Housewives of Potomac" gets extra heated for the 100th time this season as Karen Huger & Gizelle Bryant almost came to blows in somebody's hotel lobby.  Our exclusive sneak peek inside.

The tension has been brewing ALL season between frenemies Karen Huger & Gizelle Bryant.  First, Gizelle has been feeling some kind of way that Karen didn't let her in on her fragrance launch plans.  Now, Gizelle is getting further in her feelings after Karen decided to skip an outing during the New Orleans trip to rest, but ending up doing an IG Live with her fans.  It's all coming to a head on Sunday night's episode.

The ladies are off to another trip (why they keep taking group trips when they all have disastrous moments is BEYOND us) hosted by Ashley Darby when ish goes left in the hotel lobby.  Gizelle calls Karen fake and refuses to room with her as she calls out that IG Live session, while Karen maintains she was simply doing what she needed to do for herself after burying her father.

We're not sure how this is going to end, but they damn near come to blows.  What we do know is, we're living for Katie's extra perched wiggery she's serving up once again.  Chick is unbothered by the synthetic-ness of it all.  Check it:

EXCLUSIVE: Tamron Hall Says She Never Imagined Her Husband Would Be White, Weighs In On Jay-Z-NFL Partnership

 photo tamronman1.png

Tamron Hall gets real about interracial dating and Jay-Z's partnership with the NFL. Find out what the daytime talk show host spilled to TheYBF.com inside...

After her bittersweet exit from the Today show a few years ago, Tamron Hall’s life has been on the up and up. Yes, the level up has been mad real for the former NBC/MSNBC personality. She found love, got married to music manager Steve Greener, and now she’s a new mom to an adorable baby boy named Moses. Not only did her personal life glow up, so did her career.

The new mom took a leap of faith leaving the TODAY show and it surely paid off. She’s now the host of her OWN talk show where she can engage in discussions, she and her target audience are interested in. One topic Tamron plans to bring to the forefront is interracial dating being that her husband is a white man. But, she doesn’t just want to talk about interracial from the black perspective because women from other races who date outside their race deal with backlash as well.

”I have a colleague who’s Asian and she said every time she’s goes out with a white man somebody believes she’s a gold digger,” Tamron said during our conference call. “I’ve had a couple people tell me my son is white and I am black. What does that mean? Barack Obama was our first black president. His mother is white. Somehow my son is white, but he has a black mother? So, I’m willing to talk about those things in very real terms.”

 photo tamronman2.png

Being in an interracial relationship will allow her to provide good feedback and insight into the world of dating someone outside of your race. However, the 48-year-old TV host said she never would have thought in her wildest dreams that her husband would be a white man.

“I never imagined my husband would be white. I grew up in Texas in a predominately black neighborhood. I’ve dated almost exclusively men of color, black men. He just so happened to be the person I fell in love with.”

Did she fear there would be backlash that she married someone outside of her race?

”There was a worry in the sense of I didn’t want him ridiculed or hurt and I didn’t want anyone feeling badly about themselves. As I pointed out, our president is a product of an interracial relationship. It’s labels that were trying to break down on the show and that we can bring in conversations that are really happening.”

She continued:

”In no way did marrying my husband mean that black men had failed me. I was raised by an unapologetic black man who served in this country’s army for 30 years. That’s who I am. That’s the fiber of who I am.”

Falling in love and marrying a white man did come with some struggles, but nothing she couldn’t handle. When asked if she had to get over any hurdles in her own mind about marrying a white man, she said:

”Of, course I did. I don’t know if hurdles are the right thing, but I did take things into consideration. This is the person who I love and who loves me and who roots for me. My husband used to be the executive producer of the 'Bernie Mac Show' and won a Peabody Award for it. One of the most powerful images of a strong black father figure in TV. He said to me ‘Be yourself.” He gave me great advice along the way. I had to think about personal – well not consequences because I’m a grown woman. It wasn’t really that. We all love somebody and you don’t want anything you do to hurt them.”

Switching gears, Tamron also weighed in on the Jay-Z / NFL partnership. There has been plenty of controversy surrounding the deal where some people have called Hov a sellout, while others believe he’s being strategic, playing checkers, not chess. Here’s Tamron’s take on it all:

“I think it would be unfair to assign characterization behind that because I don’t know the deal or what it entails," she told TheYBF.com.

"I don’t know what his goals are. I think we need to be careful calling people sellouts. I think at some point in time you can name just about every successful African American and they were called a sellout - from Harry Belafonte to Oprah - you name it. We get very reckless with that. Michael Eric Dyson, my friend and author, spoke very eloquently about the cancel culture and the sellout culture. Those are very, very painful words. We use them for clickbait, we use them to get people engaged, and I think that’s very unfair. Because how do you define that? So, I would never assign a title to anyone’s actions. What are his intentions? I don’t know, you’d have to get Jay-Z to tell you that. I’d love to have him on the show to tell me.”

Well, there you have it.

The “Tamron Hall Show” debuts today on CBS! Check your local listings.

Over the last year-and-a-half, Tyrese has been going through it!

We all saw his public social media meltdown when the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services launched an investigation against him after his ex-wife Norma made claims that the YBF actor had beaten their daughter so hard she was unable to sit down. The case was eventually closed, and he was able to reunite with his daughter. No criminal charges were brought up against him.

Now that the storm has passed, he’s ready to get back to his career full throttle.

Black & Blue– a cop thriller - is the first film Tyrese signed on to do following his “mess.” At the 2019 Urbanworld Film Festival in NYC, he explained to YBF correspondent Angela Yvonne why thefilm was the perfect project for him to sign on to do after he got through the all of the custody drama.

A black woman named Amanda is searching for her biological family after she was adopted into a white family. Catch our exclusive sneak peek of the next episode of "Long Lost Family" inside....

Imagine growing up in a family where no one looks like you. Not only do they not look like you, the family you grew up with doesn't share any biological traits that makes one wonder, "Where did I come from?" and "Who are my parents?"

That’s was the case for a black woman named Amanda, who appears on an upcoming episode of TLC’s “Long Lost Family.”

"Long Lost Family" follows the stories of people who have, for one reason or another, experienced long term separation from members of their family and are seeking to be reunited with them. After a lifetime of separation, birth parents will reconnect with their biological families and children will meet the parents who put them up for adoption years ago. And we're huge fans of the show. So is Kim Kardashian West

Growing up in rural Nebraska, 31-year-old Amanda always felt like an outsider in her town.

As an African-American adopted in to a white family, Amanda felt inadequate because she had no idea about her biological origins. However, a page in her baby book caused her to go on the hunt to uncover details about her biological parents.

Desperate to know more about her birth family, Amanda has asked for host Chris Jacobs' help in uncovering her past. Will she find the answers she's looking for? Check out our exclusive sneak peek to Friday's emotional episode below:

See if Amanda gets the answers she's looking for when "Long Lost Family" airs a new episode this Friday at 10/9c on TLC.

EXCLUSIVE: Kim Fields Says She Didn’t Experience Racial Discrimination As A Kid Actor, But Isn’t Blind To The Struggle

$

 photo kimfields1_1.png

One of our childhood faves Kim Fields is gracing our TVs this holiday season. So we chopped it up with the child star-turned bonafide boss actress, director and producer. She dished about her come up in Hollywood, discrimination in the industry, how ageism isn't a factor for her now and more.

Get into it inside...

Kim Fields is one of those actresses that feel like she’s your friend in your head. We first met her as “Tootie” on the “Faces of Life” in 1979. The show wrapped in 1988 and she took some time off to pursue her education. Then, she came back in the 90s as our bougie bestie “Regine” in the sitcom “Living Single.”

It’s the holiday season and Kim is superfan of Christmas, just like us. She’s starring in LIFETIME’s new holiday film, You Light Up My Christmas, where she plays a woman named Emma Simmons, who returns to her hometown built around her family's pioneer Christmas Light Factory two weeks before Christmas.

However upon Emma's return, she discovers the lights have gone dim in the once festive town, prompting her to reconnect with an old flame to set their hearts and the town ablaze with light again.

Yes, it's the typical Christmas movie format, and yes, we're still watching it a million times unapologetically.  Also she's GOOD in it.

By the way, she produced the film and she also reunited with her “Facts of Life” co-stars in the Christmas flick.

As a black child actress in the game back in the day, Kim Fields revealed she didn’t encounter discrimination although racial discrimination was very prevalent. And she doesn’t deny it didn’t exist. However, it just wasn’t a major part of her story.

"I've never really dealt with discrimination,” the veteran actress told TheYBF.com.“I know it's there and it exists. I certainly know that's a tremendous challenge of many, but that's not part of my narrative.

While discrimination wasn’t a big part of her career coming up, she said she’s def making sure she’s doing her part to help those who have struggled with being discriminated against. Even now, there are rumors about Gabrielle Union’s exit from “America’s Got Talent” as a judge for wearing “too black” hairstyles.

”I do my part to help those who have had that struggle and making sure the shoulders that we stand on are not in vain,” she shared.

Landing roles in Hollywood is already hard enough, let alone being a black woman. And once women reach a certain age, the game gets even trickier. Because, sexism and misogony.  But, not for Kim. Ageism isn’t a factor in the 50-year-old entertainer’s career because she’s a certified BOSS.

"Not at all because I'm not a woman of a certain age,” she explained. “I'm just a bad a** actress and I'm a boss. That's my story and I'm sticking to it."

Yasss! We love to see it.

Not only is she acting, directing, and producing, she’s also a wife and mother to two boys.  We saw her in both those roles a few seasons ago on "Real Housewives of Atlanta."

It’s a balancing act when it comes to nurturing her career and also helping to guide her children with their passions. She dropped some good gems for parents on how to be there for your kids, but giving them the space they need to flourish.

"Be a good listener. You have to stay prayed up. You have to listen to the universe and listen to God or whatever you believe in. Don't discredit the instincts of children just because they're young. And also, don't let your fears get projected on to them."

We felt that.

You can sign into your cable provider account and watch Kim Fields in LIFETIME's You Light Up My Christmas anytime HERE.

Women without female friends? Nah, Tiffany Haddish will pass.

We’re sure you’ve encountered at least one woman in your lifetime who claims to have never made genuine connections with other women. Makes you wonder what has happened to a girlfriend-less woman to not have at least ONE female friend in her life. Well, Tiffany Haddish’s upcoming movie is all about female friendships and she explains to TheYBF.com WHY these type of relationships are so important.

The comedienne/actress is starring in an upcoming comedy titled, Like A Boss (previously titled Limited Partner), where she’ll portray a woman named Mia, who is best friends with a woman named Mel (portrayed by Rose Byrne). The two BFFs run their own cosmetics company, but their relationship is tested once they are made a big buyout offer made by cosmetics mogul Claire (played Salma Hayek).  Now, the ladies must figure out their next move for their company all while staying true to their lifelong friendship.

Yes, the movie is all about female relationships and that’s something Tiffany feels is VERY important in a woman’s life.

“The opportunity to be able to show the female relationship, which I think is super important,” Tiffany told YBF correspondent Shayla Rae during a sitdown interview. “And I think a lot of women can relate to it. We all have our girlfriends.”

She continued:

”There are some females out there who are like ‘I don’t have no girlfriends!’ I don’t trust b*tches like that!"

"I really think it’s important to show the dynamic of a real friendship and how it has its ups and downs.”

Very true. Everything isn’t all peaches and cream with your girlfriends 100% of the time. It’s all in how you work through your issues and get back to being on good terms. TIffany also shared her thoughts on doing business with your friends:

”And I hate that people say ‘Oh, you can’t do business with your friends.’ Then that means they’re not really your real friends because they’re not being open and honest. If you’re open and honest about how you feel about something, then you guys are able to work together. But it’s like, why would I make millions with a stranger when I can make millions with my bestie?! In my mind, I think that’s the best way to do business.”

Hmm...do you agree with Tiffany's outlook on doing business with friends?! Let us know in the comments.

You can see how everything unfolds with Tiffany and her on-screen bestie with Like A Boss hits theaters January 10, 2020.

Tiffany Haddish loves stand-up comedy SO much it's like MASTURBATION to her! The Like A Boss starlet gives TheYBF.com the rundown on how the transition from stand-up to acting gives her sex feels...

Tiffany Haddish popped up on the acting scene with her breakout role in Girls Trip and quickly became a fan favorite. She has been scooping up roles left and right. Right now, she’s gearing up for the release of her new comedy, Like A Boss.

But before she become Hollywood’s “IT” girl, theNight School actress was busy working on being a successful stand-up comedienne. In order for her to make it big as a stand-up comedienne, she needed more exposure, so she got into acting. However, stand-up comedy is her FIRST love.

“Acting is fun…to play pretend. Personally, I just always wanted to do stand-up and I wanted to make a good living doing stand-up. I love being able to share experiences with people and make them laugh, bring joy to a room full of people, and instantly do that. I enjoy it immensely. It is my cocaine, it is my drug, it is my EVERYTHING!,” Tiffany told YBF correspondent Shayla Rae during a sitdown interview.

As she was perfecting her craft, Tiffany was only making $10 - $25 per show. She ended up getting an agent and her agent told her the only way she would make money from comedy is to get some exposure by getting on television. Next, she enrolled in acting classes to help strengthen her stand-up set and it opened everything in the acting world.

”Acting is great. I enjoy it, but I prefer the immediate gratification of stand-up,” she said.

The instant gratification is “like masturbating! It’s great. I prefer the real deal. I prefer the meat, I prefer the live, instant…it’s cool! Just honest.”

Ha! Gotta love her.

Tiffany Haddish is one of Hollywood’s most sought after actresses, which has resulted in her making some A-list celebrity friends. Find out the advice she told TheYBF.com she has received from pop singer Taylor Swift and her Like A Boss co-stars Salma Hayek and Rose Bryne...

Since her breakout role on Girls Trip, Tiffany Haddish’s Hollywood status has leveled up. Long gone are the days where she's doing stand-up comedy shows for $10 - $25 a show. Chick is in high demand.

With her newfound celebrity, comes new A-lister friends. Tiffany Haddish has several new friends in her circle and that comes to no surprise. She already told us she doesn’t trust women who don’t have female friendships.

The Night School actress have created several new female friendships and one of them happens to be with pop singer Taylor Swift. Not only are they cool, they’re almost bestie status, where they call each other up to dish about things that are going on in their personal lives and careers.

Tiffany – who’s gearing up for the release of her new comedy Like A Boss– sat down with YBF correspondent Shayla Rae to dish on advice her new friends have given her.

“Well, from Taylor [Swift]I learned a lot about how you know you’ve made it type situation. I’ll go through a few things and she’ll be like ‘that mean you made it Tiffany, that means you made it.’ I’m like, ‘Oh aight, she made it!’,” she laughed during an interview with YBF correspondent Shayla Rae.

Tiffany will text Taylor when she’s stressed about certain situations and Taylor always reminds her that she’ll have to deal with certain things being that she’s famous famous now. The comedienne also taught Taylor a thing or two.

”From me, Taylor learned some dance moves and some recipes. We share recipes,” she said.

Y’all know Tiff loves to cook and dance.

Spending so much time with her Like A Boss co-stars Salma Hayek and Rose Bryne to shoot the film, Tiffany (who's also executive produced the movie) has also learned a few life lessons from them as well.

”Selma [Hayek] tells me all the time, ‘You have to be a diva. You have to be kind of a b*tch! You’re a superstar now. When you’re a superstar, you have to be superstar, like ughhh’ I don’t know what the f*ck that means," she said while laughing it up.

Ha!

”And then Rose [Bryne], I just learned a lot. Watching Rosa, she’s so patient and I love that. I’m learning to be a lot more patient.

Tiff said being a comedienne, it’s more fast pace. She would take that same energy to the set, and Rose would tell her “just be patient.”

Good words of wisdom.

You'll can see Tiffany, Salma and Rose when Like A Boss hits the box office this Friday, January 10th.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Like A Boss' Photographer Just Proved Why Shooting Your Shot ‘Out Of Your League’ Can Land You Your Dream Job

Eli Joshua Adé– the head photographer for the movie Like A Boss – shared with TheyYBF.com how shooting his shot with a Hollywood heavyweight landed him his dream job! Details inside…

Eli Joshua Adé–the head photographer for Like A Boss – is proof that if you just take a chance on yourself it could lead you into rooms you’d never thought you’d be in.

The Jacksonville native started his career as a Merchant Seaman after joining the Marine Corps, but he knew “there was something more” he was supposed to be doing. He attended Tallahassee Community College and then decided to move to Atlanta and got the photography bug. He purchased two video cameras and started making videos for people for free.

After creating incredible bodies of work for free, he ended up landing the opportunity to be introduced to British hottie Idris Elba. The Beasts of No Nation actor invited him on the road with him for about a year and Eli captured moments for him while on the road. Idris was so impressed with his work, he asked Eli if he wanted to join him in LA where he was shooting the movie Obsessed, which also starred Beyonce.

”One day he [Idris Elba] says, ‘Well I’m going to LA to shoot the movie Obsessed and he was like, ‘Do you want to go?’ and I was like ‘Yeah, do you want me to video on set?’ and he was like ‘No. You’re going to be my assistant,” Eli told YBF correspondent Shayla Rae during a sitdown interview.

Eli said he didn’t know anything about being an assistant, but he took the job.

”So we went out there and that’s where I met [producer] Will Packer. When we came back from Obsessed, Idris went back to the UK. And I was like, ‘I want to keep doing this some kind of way.’ I called Will – not knowing any better. It’s kind of like when you’re educated, you’ll be a fool. If you follow this perimeter, you end up not taking certain chances.”

So, Eli got Will Packer on the phone to shoot his shot at his dream job.

”I called Will and asked him if he needed anything done and he was like ‘Yeah, call my office manager and see.’ I literally – for like 3 or 4 years – worked in the basement of Rainforest [Films], moving boxes around, going to get lunches for free, but I knew this was like a means to the end.”

Eventually he ended up getting a paid job as an office PA. He then met “First Wives Club” actor RonReaco Lee who suggested Eli as a photographer on a project and that job led to more gigs. Look at him now! He said in the beginning, he knew nothing about still photography and ended up teaching himself by watching videos on YouTube. Imagine that!

Eli has worked on several films, including Night School, How High 2, LITTLE, Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween, and more. He has also done photography for a few TV shows as well, including “Being Mary Jane,” “Greenleaf,” “The Quad,” and more.

Shoutout to Eli for shooting his shot and making it BIG!

Don't let anyone tell you what you CAN'T do!

EXCLUSIVE: Meet Your New Little Sis In Your Head, Rayven Symone Ferrell – Colorism Isn’t Stopping Her Hustle & Neither Is Somebody’s Ashy Son + ‘The Kamiyah Mobley Story’ Premiere Flicks!

TheYBF.com chopped it up with “The Kamiyah Mobley Story” star Rayven Symone Ferrell (not the Raven Symone you’re thinking) and the YBF chick is all about progressing in her acting career. And nothing is going to stop her. What she told us about colorism in the industry, dating in 2020, and more.

Rayven Symone Ferrell is a fresh face on the acting scene you DEF want to get familiar with.

No, she’s not “Cosby Show” alum Raven Symone. We’re sure that’s who came to mind when you first read the name. There’s actually a story behind her famous name. Rayven's mother named her after the Disney Channel actress because she knew her daughter was destined for greatness in the acting world. Did Rayven feel pressure having a celebrity name? Nope. She knew her capabilities and didn’t allow a name to add more pressure on her.

The 24-year-old moved from Ohio to Atlanta in 2013 - when she was 18 - to attend Kennesaw State University. At the time, producing was more her passion and acting was more like a hobby. It didn't take long for that to change in her new environment. The acting bug crept back on her after behind exposed to how TV and film was created in ATL. That made her start pursuing acting as a career verses just a hobby.

Rayven began booking gigs in 2015, where she nabbed a short appearance in “Greenleaf,” and then got her first big break when she starred as late rapper Tupac’s younger sister, Sekyiwa Shakur in the feature film, All Eyez On Me. She then scored roles in TV and film, including Lee Daniel’s “STAR,” BET’s “The Bobby Story,” The Hate U Give, and “Chicago P.D.”

Eventually, she moved to L.A. after being bicoastal, and now, she’s ready to take over Hollywood.

She’s starring as Kamiyah Mobley in LIFETIME’s ripped from the headlines feature, Stolen by My Mother: The Kamiyah Mobley Story, where she plays Kamiyah Mobley. The film is executive produced by “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts.

Rayven’s career is taking off and she’s for sure not letting anything stop her. Nope. Not even colorism, which is very present in this industry.

“I think in today’s society black is beautiful,” Rayven told TheYBF.com in an interview.

While colorism is prevalent in the industry, it hasn’t slowed her down one bit.

“It’s not like one of those things where it has prevented me to pursue my dreams,”Rayven said. “I do think that in today’s society everyone is kind of noticing how great we are and are really giving us a chance to create and make our own projects. You have to look at Issa Rae & Tyler Perry - people who create opportunities for us. We have a lot more voices. I just hope and pray that I become one of those people, so the next brown girl can look at me as that for her as well.”

Rayven may be young, but chick has her head on straight. She’s all about working hard and pushing through even when things get hard. She even dropped some gems for other young, black actresses aspiring to get in the game.

“It gets better. It gets better,” she told TheYBF.com

People will look at her now and think she has it all together as she continues to grow as an artist, but, it hasn’t been easy. And she acknowledges that.

“It’s so easy to not to feel as confident. It’s so easy to give up. It’s so easy to feel like you’re not in the right spot, at the right age at the right time. It’s so easy to fall into the negative of it and not look forward to the outcome. So, to anyone pursuing… really anything - not just acting – just know that if you put in 100%, you’ll get something out of it. It does get better," she concluded.

A WORD.

Having tunnel vision to make it big (she aspires to work with her faves Regina King& Viola Davis), Rayven doesn’t have time for anyone’s ashy son!

“Right now, I’m really, really focused on my career, so I kind of limit my love life until I feel comfortable where I don’t have to go as hard. I don’t need any distractions right now,” she explained.

And we couldn’t agree more.

“One thing I’ve realized about relationships, it’s a job,” she shared. Once things take an unexpected turn, it can affect you career and focus and she just doesn’t have time for the foolishness right now.

Speak.On.That.Ish.

Recently, "The Kamiyah Mobley" cast - including lead star Rayven Symone, Niecy Nash (who plays the mother who abducted her character in the film), Ta'Rhonda Jones (who plays her character's biological mother) and executive producer Robin Roberts - reunited for the NYC premiere held at the The Paley Center recently. Peep the carpet flicks below:

Niecy always slays a red carpet. Sheesh!

OK, Robin with the see-thru! Get it!

Ta'Rhonda pulled up an edgy look that we're feeling.
