The Holidays bring out the best (and worst) ish.  So y'all know Natasha has a lot of ish to talk about what you MUST see on tv and at the movies this winter, and what you need to skip over with the quickness.  Plus, win tickets to see LaLa Land as it racks up ALL the award nomination!

Natasha brought entertainment journalist Karu F. Daniels on The YBF Podcast to ki-ki and cut up. We've already watched EVERYTHING premiering this winter so that you don't have to.

Karu’s been in this business for the better part of 20 years, so he’s seen it ALL.  But he’s all the way confused by and NOT here for the Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian drama.

Natasha is pissed BlacRob are doing THE MOST as a unit on weekends, Karu yelled at Mariah to get her legendary grown ass off the floor and off reality tv and he goes on record to tell the world he DOES NOT f*** with Taylor Swift.  Both Karu and Natasha explain why "Mariah’s World" wore them out and they just can’t, why Leah Remini’s tea spilling in her new Scientology documentary is everything, they argue over what makes a girl “loose” — like the chicks on “Star” —, that cray "Empire" finale, why Janelle Monae & Hidden Figures are EPIC, why Xzibit reminds Natasha of one of her exes, Taye Diggs’ "Empire" character being totally smashable, why Karu wanted to slit his wrist while watching Jackie, why Taraji P. Henson’s about to get snubbed all awards season, Oscar predictions and more.

The YBF Podcast is also available on iTunes!  Subscribe NOW!

EXCLUSIVE: “Being Mary Jane” Star Raven Goodwin HATES The Curvy Girl Label, Reveals Her New Healthy Lifestyle

“Being Mary Jane” star Raven Goodwin isn’t one for labels. She prefers to be her authentic self without having to be put into a box. The YBF chick also dished to us about her new healthy lifestyle. Get it all inside…

“Being Mary Jane” star Raven Goodwin is gearing up for the season 4 premiere of the hit BET series that’s set to premiere tonight. TheYBF.com caught up with the 24-year-old actress for a chat where she dropped a few gems that caught us by surprise.

For starters, Raven hates labels. Because, why have labels when you can just be you?

The YBF actress, who’s currently enrolled in film school, tells us that no matter what “label” people put on her, she’s going to be her authentic self.

“I don’t categorize myself,” she tells TheYBF.com.“I’m a woman. I’m a black woman. No matter my size, shape or whatever, my gift is to act. That’s my gift. That’s one of my many purposes that I’m going to live out and I’m going to accomplish.”

She continues,

“I’m just Raven. If I want to keep the weight, I’m going to work. If I lose the weight, I’m going to work. I love showing love to girls who look up to me who may be plus size. That’s what I’m here for. But at the same time, all of the labels make it difficult for us to just exist.”

So true. It's easy to get caught up in labels and then lose focus on what’s really important.

Her advice for young girls trying to make it in the entertainment industry?“Be authentic as possible.”

We’ve been stalking Raven’s social media pages, and she looks AHH-mazing these days. We had to ask her about her diet/fitness routine.

The YBF Chick tells us,

“I’ve been in and out of the gym. I do yoga from time to time. I was Pescatarian for two years and then I went on a bit of a meat binge. Now, I’ve transitioned into veganism. I’m going to try it for six months and see how I like it. I love cheese. I’m a cheese kind of girl, so I don’t know. I’ll probably end up being a lifelong Pescatarian nine times out of ten.”

We doubt she'll be going to any Waffle Houses anytime soon.  HMPH.

 photo raven1.jpg

With Gabrielle Union and BET settling Gabby’s multi-million dollar lawsuit (that she actually filed to help out her co-stars as well), what does Raven have to say about it all?

“I rock with Gab. I love Gab. She rocks with us. I don’t really know what’s going on. I’m just letting them work that out. I’m always going to rock with her.”

And since we love a good celeb crush around these parts, we had to ask Raven her TOP THREE celeb crushes.

“Idris Elba, Michael Ealy and then…I’ve always had this thing for Mos Def. I just love his swag.”

Yummy!

Check out Raven in the Season 4 premiere of “Being Mary Jane” tonight at 10pm EST on BET.

EXCLUSIVE: Cardi B Says She’s Dropping Hood Tracks Now, But Wants That Pop Life Later

“Love & Hip Hop: New York” star Cardi B has a plan.  And we're not mad at it. TheYBF.com was on the scene at her listening party last night and we’ve got the deets on her new projects....

While she’s known for a few viral sound bites and crazy, “don’t give a f*ck” behavior, “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star Cardi B also raps. If you watch the show, you’ve seen Cardi laying tracks in the studio and it wasn’t just for TV. She has some new music she’s gearing up to drop.

 photo spl1423746_016_zps2zgx23gk.jpg

Last night, Cardi B hosted an album listening party at the Black Lodge in NYC to preview her upcoming mixtape “Gangsta B*tch Music Volume 2.” And YBF correspondent James Terrell was in the mix.

Before letting everyone hear her new tunes, she hopped on the mic to thank everyone for showing up.  She also gave "all the men who want to smash" a warning -- "Just know I'm crazy!"

Ha!

She dropped a few tidbits about what she has coming down the pipeline in the future.

“I feel like I’m a gangsta. I know I have a lot of fans, a lot of girls that pop that bottle like me. And even if girls that don’t pop that bottle, every girl have a girl they don’t like and that’s what my music is about. Every single time that you hear my song, I want girls, even if they from the Valley in California or a country girl, ‘Like yeah, I feel like I’m from the Bronx and I want to pop off!’”

She said:

“I’m very versatile with music so, I try to show that just a little bit. Not so much on this mixtape because, you know, I got to gravitate the hood first and then that’s when I can do all this commercial/pop stuff.”

Check it:

A video posted by TheYBF (@theybf_daily) on

Think she can pull it off?  Y'all know how the pop world loves to feel like they're "hard" and part of something "hot".

Outside of music, Cardi is starring in the new season of "Being Mary Jane." We'll see her flex her acting chops on next week's episode.

Gangsta B*tch Music Volume 2 will drop this Saturday, January 21st.

The ladies are going IN about everything about sex with curves, bedroom confidence tips, relationships, men, internet dating, Instagram frauds, and of course, hot topics!

EXCLUSIVE PICS: Inside The Front Lines Of D.C.'s Women's March -- What The REAL Message Was About

$

 photo wm teaser_zpswd7fvzmz.jpg

Go inside the front lines of the epic Women's March, now being called the largest nation-wide march in history in number.

Women came out in droves all around the country to make their voices (and their beautifully petty and brilliantly creative signage) heard.  The main march in D.C. saw over a million women, this according to multiple reports.  The founders of the Women's March -- including activist Tamika Mallory and executive director of the Arab American Association of New York Linda Sarsour -- mobilized women to march the streets for equal pay, rights for survivors of sexual assault and people with disabilities, access to proper healthcare, equal rights for other marginalized groups, choice, and plenty of other causes. Get into the messages HERE.

While some anti-women's march folks on social media claimed this was purposeless because "women weren't losing any rights" since it's been said by a few of Trump's Cabinets members that Roe vs. Wade is the law of the land.

Yeah, for now. Trump also will be appointing several Supreme Court Justices (CNN just reported Ted Cruz was at the top of the short list, chile). Since Republicans already have control over both the House and the Senate, the possibilities are endless when it comes to the type of anti-women's health (beyond abortions) legislation that will get presented, passed, and upheld. THESE are the things that keep millions of women up at night and fearful all day.

Since the government is SUPPOSED to operate according to the will of the people, like Trump alleged during his campaign ("Give America back to the people!," remember?), millions of women wanted to be VERY clear about what they want...and don't want.

Sure, 99.9% of everything that comes out the Trump's administration's mouth is complete B.S., but thanks to our Democratic system, we have ways to take him to task.  Voting against over 5 million women who PUBLICLY voiced their collective opinions in multiple states is grounds to not re-elect Congressmen, or Trump.

 photo IMG_5979_zpsrie3rnci.jpg photo IMG_5981_zpsampou7sg.jpg

We're proud of the women (and men) who took action on Saturday and made their voices known!  Icons like Angela Davis and Nona Hendryx were in the mix, and actor couple Jeffrey Wright and wife Carmen Ejogo, as well Maxwell, Zendaya and more.

And to those who say "why didn't they do this at the polls on Election Day," people surely did.  That's why Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by millions.

It's time to mobilize and strategize beyond the marches as well.

Check out the gallery below to see the women and men who led the charge in D.C. and who we expect to continue leading to 2018 midterm elections.  Find out HERE how you can join other women in 10 actions to hold the new administration accountable during Trump's first 100 days.

EXCLUSIVE: Honoree Wendy Williams Completely Skipped Trumpet Awards & It Put EVERYBODY In A Tizzy!

 photo WendyWilliamsThurgoodMarshallCollegeFundXFY15JOZe8sl_zpsoj4fcb7b.jpeg

The Trumpet Awards thought they were getting an honoree who could help drive eyes to their upcoming Awards show, but Wendy Williams played them all the way out.  Now she's being accused of MAJOR diva behavior!  We've got the exclusive details inside.

At this past Saturday's taping of the Trumpet Awards, the audience gasped when Wendy Williams' name was called after her honoree presentation and she was nowhere to be found.  The "Wendy Show" talk show maven had skipped out on the Awards show all together, and didn't tell the event organizers until less than two days before!

Sources tell us Wendy was on 100 with her demands!  Even though the Trumpet Awards organization never gave a flat out 'No' to her requests, we're told that production thinks Wendy may have felt too much push back during negotiations.  And it may have been one of the nails in the no-show coffin.

 photo WendyWilliamsThurgoodMarshallCollegeFundsRYW9wJEHuxl_zpsvrz4mjll.jpeg

Weeks leading up to the taping in Atlanta, Wendy's reps and the event organizers were busily solidifying Wendy's travel plans and everything she would need.  The Trumpet Awards, an annual event celebrating African-American achievements and contributions, were prepared to give Wendy a few backstage passes and 3-4 plane tickets with the usual travel accommodations covered, all for her and her guests.

We're told Wendy wanted to fly in 8 people, bring all 8 backstage with All-Access passes, and she also wanted to bring an entire camera crew with her every step of the way.  It presented a problem for the event staffers as space and resources are tight.  We're told they insisted on trying to compromise with where the cameras could and couldn't go -- especially seeing that their own cameras would be capturing footage for the night.

We're also told she insisted on getting cash as opposed to her plane tickets being booked the standard way, by the event organizers directly, and she also insisted on using her own car service company to the airport in New Jersey.  Trumpet organizers attempted to compromise by requesting she used a cheaper company, but, supposedly, she wasn't having it.

Comedian Gary Owen was set to honor her for the presentation portion, and we're told she wasn't here for that either, yet she didn't give an explanation as to why.

As one source put it, "It was almost like she was pulling a Mo'nique — asking for a whole lot and it was all too much."

The final nail in the coffin: According to our source, Wendy's reps called up the event organizers late Thursday night, less than 48 hours before the event, and said “something personal happened and she won’t be able to make it.”

Event reps got Ed Lover to be a part of the presentation in the last hours of production, but apparently it didn't change her mind about coming.

Wendy has yet to mention the Trumpet Awards on her talk show (she does mention it briefly on her Youtube aftershow once).  Perhaps she's waiting until Monday after the show airs.  We hear she did record a Thank You video days later, after much back and forth about it.

Still, we're told event producers are pissed, mainly because Wendy publicizing the event beforehand was part of the reason she was being honored in the first place.

Bounce TV will premiere the 25th Annual Trumpet Awards on Sunday, January 29 at 9:00pm ET.

 photo chawkins.jpg

Corey Hawkins is filling big shoes with his lead role in the “24: Legacy” reboot. TheYBF.com got the chance to chop it up with the YBF actor about his new role, his relationship status and more. Soak it up inside…

Corey Hawkins, who gained notoriety as Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton, is making major waves on the Hollywood scene with his lead role in the “24: Legacy” reboot. The series debuted right after Super Bowl LI last night, just in time for Black History Month.

The YBF actor is filling the shoes of Kiefer Sutherland who played Jack Bauer in the original “24” series. It’s a really big deal that a black actor is taking over the role that was originally played by a white man, especially since Corey is still considered a newbie in the game so to speak.

Corey, who also stars in “The Walking Dead,” sat down with YBF correspondent James Terrell to chat it up about his kick a** role, his hot co-star Anna Diop and whether or not he’s single. Take note ladies!

Peep the clip above.

By the way, the action thriller was the most watched post-Super Bowl show ever. Nice!

Be sure to tune in tonight for the 2nd episode of "24: Legacy" at 8/7c on FOX.

Adrienne (Bailon) Houghton dropped some dating advice on how to find a lifelong partner. And it starts with reevaluating your “filters.” Find out what she means inside….

Adrienne Bailon became Mrs. Adrienne Houghton after tying the knot to her now husband Israel Houghton on November 11th in Paris. Now, she’s dropping a few gems on how to snag the man of your dreams.

YBF's Houston correspondents Desola Awofeso and Rebecca Guillory caught up with “The Real” co-host on the red carpet at The Official MAXIM Super Bowl Party 2017 recently where she dropped some bomb dating advice.  The fab chick walked the carpet at the Smart Financial Centre in H-Town before stopping to chat.

As a single woman looking for a man, one often times put “filters” on what we’re looking for in a man: He has to be tall; He has to make a certain amount of money; He can’t have kids, to name a few.

Well, Adrienne said if you adjust your filters but still stay true to your core values, then plenty more options open up for finding “the one.”

“Change the filters on what you’re looking for," Adrienne said. "Broaden your horizons, you never know the man of your dreams could be around the corner, it could be someone who is already in your life. But, don’t limit yourself for what you’re looking for.”

Say what you will about the singer-actress, but she may be on to something.  Peep the clip above.

Bow Wow is keeping his coins in his pockets when it comes to the Soulja Boy vs. Chris Brown celebrity boxing match. He tells us why inside…

Super Bowl LI went down on Sunday and all of Atlanta jetted to Houston to cheer on the Atlanta Falcons. Bow Wow was amongst the celebrity crowd. Unfortunately for the ATLiens, the Falcons were defeated by the New England Patriots. So, it’s a good thing Mr. Shad Moss didn’t bet on the game.

YBF correspondents Desola Awofeso and Rebecca Guillory caught up with the “CSI:Cyber” alum on the red carpet at Maxim’s 2017 Pre-Super Bowl Party at the Smart Financial Centre to find out why he decided not to bet on his beloved Falcons.

“It’s my team and it's already personal," he told us. "It’s like I don’t want to have any more pressure on it with money on the line. It’s going to be too much.”

Speaking of bets, who would he choose to put his money behind between his homies Soulja Boy and Chris Brown?

“Nah. I’mma let them do what they do. I’m just staying out of the way. Soulja, that’s my lil’ partner. Brown, lot of love for the homie. Never nothing bad to say about Brown, we made a lot of money together.”

As for what the rapper/actor has in store for 2017, he’ll be working behind-the-scenes on an upcoming spin-off reality show.

“Growing Up Hip Hop” is coming to the “A” and he confirms two high-profile celebuspawns are set to be featured on the show.  Find out who they are in the video above!

Not only is Bow producing the series, he will also be joining the cast. That should be interesting.

Actor Woody McClain caught some negative backlash over a racial joke he told on Twitter a while back. TheYBF.com caught up with the New Edition Story star at ESSENCE’s Black Women In Hollywood event to ask him about it. Find out what he said inside…

New Edition Story breakout star Woody McClain made his way to ESSENCE’s Black Women In Hollywood event last week to celebrate all of the bad a** black women in the industry.

The YBF actor came under fire recently after someone dug up some old tweets he fired off via Twitter that seemed to be a shot fired at black women. But, it’s not what everyone think it is, according to Woody.

YBF Correspondent MJ asked Woody about the tweet and the negative backlash he received from it. Here’s what he had to say:

“The original tweet was ‘If it ain’t white, it ain’t right.’ That’s comedy! It’s like saying, ‘Once you go black, you never go back.’ Somebody took that tweet and added more tweets to it. Photoshop is undefeated."

The young actor said he comes from a comedy background and the tweet was never meant to disrespect black women. He said he always pushes for black love.

He said all of the negative backlash he received hurt his feelings, BUT he learned a good lesson from it.

TheYBF.com also caught up with Anthony Hamilton, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Kandi Burruss (will she be returning for another season?), “The Real” co-host Loni Love, and Master P’s daughter/singer Cymphonique Miller.

Will another Friday movie ever see the light of day? Ice Cube tells us only under one condition. More inside…

Rumors of another installment of Friday have been circulating for years. Like, forever. The fourth installment has been dubbed the “Last Friday” with rumors that Chris Tucker may come back to reprise his fan-favorite role as Smokey.

YBF correspondent MJ caught up with actor/filmmaker Ice Cube on the red carpet at the Fist Fight world premiere in L.A. this week where he dished on whether fans can expect another Friday from the series.

“I think the head of New Line [Cinema] is coming down the line. It’s a New Line movie. You ask them cut the check then we can do the movie,” he told TheYBF.com.

New Line also is the company behind Fist Fight. No word on who would star in the film or any other important details about the film.

By the way, Ice Cube and his wife Kimberly Woodruff celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary this year. Congrats!

Last October, Chris Tucker was asked if he would do another Friday film and it doesn’t look promising."I don't know if we can do another one. I don't know if I can do another one because I was so young and it was a moment in time,” he told ExtraButterBX.

Radio personality Tom Joyner and Fist Fight star Kym Whitley also hopped in to clown Trump’s presidency. Peep the clip above.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Black Ink' Star Ceaser Says He’s About to Throw A 'Singles Party'& He’s Done With Dutchess FOR GOOD!

“Black Ink” stars Ceaser and Dutchess are done for good, at least, that’s what the tattoo shop honcho is saying. Find out what he tells TheYBF.com inside…

Is it really over between “Black Ink” stars and couple Ceaser and Dutchess? According to Ceasar, the engagement is OFF...and he’s never going back.

We’ve watched Ceasar and Dutchess share some really good times, like the time he surprised her in Paris and proposed. And we’ve also seen them through some really tough times, like when a chick popped up out of no where at Black Ink claiming C got her sister pregnant.  Yes, the ratchet drama is at an all time high in these inked up streets.

The reality couple has broken up, gotten back together, broken up, and gotten back together time and time again. But this last breakup may have been the last straw.

After that chick stormed Black Ink 125th claiming her sister was once pregnant by Ceasar, the engagement was abruptly called off by Dutchess. And it appears they’re at a point of no return.

TheYBF.com chopped it up with the Black Ink honcho and he told us there will NOT be a wedding, BUT there will be a singles' party coming down the pipeline.

“There’s not going to be a wedding. There’s not going to be none of that. But I’m throwing a singles party in a couple of months. That sh*t over. A n*gga got his ring on a ‘Dear John’ letter.”

That’s true. We saw that play out on the show. He said viewers are going to see the “Old Ceaser” come back. Lordt.

C went on to explain why he has decided to move on:

“She left and I could’t keep playing this chasing game. Every season I’m running after her in North Carolina. A n*gga get tired of that after while. I keep looking like a sucker and swallowing my pride. At the end of the day, I’m a man. And this is the first time I’m giving her the opportunity to come back. My mama always told me, if it’s true let them go, they’ll come back to you.”

Yikes.

Ceaser is also focused on business, thankfully.  The (Tattoo) King of Harlem revealed to us that has plans on bringing Black Ink to several cities. He said he’s setting up shop in Atlanta and the new shop should be open in the next couple of months. Orlando and Houston are the next cities on his list. He also revealed he wants to franchise Black Ink. That’s a good look.

The NYC native also offered up some advice to other black entrepreneurs working their way to success: “When you believe in something, don’t quit!” and “Take what you want. A lot of people give up too early, but if you truly believe in something, never quit."

Ceaser said he left the streets when he was making tons of money only to end up struggling all because he decided to go after his dream. Well, look at him now.

He dished that he thanks God his idea paid off.  He said he's happy he didn't let other people get in his ear trying to douse his dreams because had he listened, he wouldn't be where he is now.

"Black Ink Crew" airs Wednesdays 8/7c on VH1.

Jennifer Lopez is one of the hottest chicks in the game. So, who wouldn’t want that JLo glow that she exudes everywhere she goes. Like, she hardly EVER has a bad day.

YBF correspondent James Terrell caught up with the 47-year-old entertainer on the carpet at the season 2 premiere of her cop drama “Shades of Blue” held at The Roxy Hotel Cinema to find out what it takes to shine like she does. And she dished all of the goods.

The singer/actress spilled that it starts with being godo on the inside, and there's also some nighttime behavior that'll do the trick.  Watch the video above for all three!

While she’s working on a new Spanish-language album, we had to find out if she could collaborate with one female rap artist, who would it be? Surprisingly (or not), when we asked about the two female emcees who are currently battling for the Queen of Rap crown, her answer is subtly shade-filled.

Peep the clip above.

EXCLUSIVE: Dutchess Opens Up About Losing Herself In Relationship With Ceaser, Calling Off Engagement, & DATING

Now that Ceasar has told his side of the breakup, Dutchess is now sharing HER side of their breakup. We spoke with the “Black Ink” star where she opened up about losing herself in her relationship, why she called off the engagement and if/when she’s hopping back in the dating pool. More inside…

As you all know by now, “Black Ink” stars Ceaser and Dutchess have called it quits. Cease (short for Ceasar) gave us his side of the story and now Dutch is sharing her side with TheYBF.com.

In a candid phone conversation, Dutchess told us that she and Cease officially broke up in October 2016. After reaching a breaking point, she gave him an ultimatum: They could leave the TV ish alone and live happily ever after OR continue to star on “Black Ink” and call it quits. Apparently, Cease chose the TV life and that’s when she said she was done.

“This TV sh*t it’s so much more than what people think it is. [People don’t understand] the amount of stress and strain it puts on your relationship. Not just your relationship, but your friendships as well. I really just wanted us to be in love enough to walk away and let the drama just be what it is, the drama. But, Cease loves this to a certain extinct. I can’t live for the drama. I can’t keep reliving it, it’s too much.”

She said she loves Cease and always will, but she was in a very miserable situation. The hate she constantly received from her fiancé’s friends started to make her hate herself and that wasn’t healthy.

“How can I be in love with someone when everyone around them hate you? You don’t have friends or family there, you’re just there because you’re in love. Sometimes love isn’t enough.”

Dutchess lost herself in the relationship and said she started hating herself. She felt had she stayed in the relationship, she would have ended up doing something to herself. It got so bad, she stopped tattooing for a while.

Eventually, she realized the “hate” she received from Cease’s friends had nothing to do with her.

With the way Dutch and Cease ended their relationship, it appears to be at a point of no return (esp. because we hear Ceasar has moved on with Karlie Redd). When asked if she would ever consider getting back with Cease she said, “It is what it is.”

She dished to us that she's grateful for the relationship. She wants him to be happy enough where he doesn’t have to degrade and belittle her in the media and on social media.

So, is she ready to jump back in the dating pool?

“Honestly, I am focused on myself. I’ve got other businesses and goals I’m working on. I just want to focus on the things that I should have been focused on.”

It’s rumored that Dutchess is now coupled up with Carolina Panthers cornerback Zack Sanchez after she was spotted getting cozy with him during an Instagram Live video. Hmm...maybe she really is done for good this time.

After finally opening her own shop, Pretty In Ink, Dutchess said it changed her...for the better. It forced her to become more responsible, accountable, and to make better business making skills telling us, “It’s either going to make you or break you.”

That's for sure.

"Black Ink Crew" airs Wednesdays 8/7c on VH1.

Cutie Mack Wilds dropped some gems during the “Shots Fired” screening in Washington D.C. last night. Find out what he said, plus peep the red carpet flicks from the cast inside…

[Mobile users CLICK HERE to watch video!]

Last night, the cast and crew of FOX’s “Shots Fired” series gathered at the Newseum in Washington D.C. for a screening of the upcoming police shooting drama.

During a Q&A session, Mack Wilds hopped on the mic to drop some (much needed) knowledge for the masses. Speak black man!

He talked about how we sometimes ignore the facts and only take in the information we want to hear. Alternative facts, so to speak. The 27-year-old actor/singer also opened up about how much he has grown as a young, black man in America trying to find his way.

Watch his inspirational message above.

Mack plays a dad on the show and his on-screen son was there just being adorable.

 photo shots3.jpg

“Shots Fired” will examine the dangerous aftermath of two racially charged shootings in a small Southern town, providing an explosive autopsy of our criminal justice system.

The gorgeous Sanaa Lathan, who plays a Department of Justice investigator, dished on how she prepared for her role. She said she spent a lot of time with a real female DOJ investigator and another female police officer to pick up a few tips and tricks to pull off her character "Ash" effortlessly.

That wasn't all she did. The show’s co-creator, Gina Prince-Bythewood, also put Sanaa in mixed martial arts to help prepare her for the role.  Chick looks amazing!

 photo shots4.jpg

Sanaa, who worked with Gina for "Love & Basketball" seventeen years ago, said shooting for the series was different that any other role she has ever played in because the actors were given the script two days before filming. So, she literally had two days to learn her lines for each episode, which co-creator Reggie Bythewood likes to call “movies,” which was unfamiliar territory.

Stephan James rolls up his sleeves to play special prosecutor, Preston. He revealed he channeled and studied former Attorney General Eric Holder to pull off his role.

Fab times!

Mark your calendars: "Shots Fired" premieres Wednesday, March 22nd at 8/7c on FOX.  And it's good.
