As the most buzzy movie in America 'Get Out' continues to rake in the dollars ($46.2 million to be exact), the flick's leading man and British actor Daniel Kaluuya gives the perfect response to racism here in the States. You gotta hear it....
Daniel Kaluuya, Get Out's most buzzed about star (and hands down our newest crush, esp. with that ridiculously sexy British accent!), may have been totally under the radar in his career so far, but not anymore. As the "horror" movie continues to do MAJOR numbers, especially for a rookie director like Jordan Peele, people are paying close attention to who's who.
We caught up with the actor -- who still resides in Britain -- at a recent VIP screening in NYC. Before that, he spoke alongside his castmates about pressing issues like race -- the main theme throughout the movie.
When asked if he paid attention to the racial strife and police brutality here in the states during the trials of the killers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, etc., his answer was surprising.
While the race issue isn't exactly the same (according to Daniel, it's not consistently as in your face as it is here in America), he totally empathizes with blacks who are victims of racism. And his take on it is quite interesting.
On the part of the movie that broke him down the most, Daniel said:
"When Chris was in the chair, and he was like, Why us, why black people? And it's like, yeah man. Like, what the fuck have we done? What have we done? What is this happening? What did we do? We're getting like persecuted, bad, and killed. What have we done?
It kind of shook me man. Everyday you live your life in London and everywhere you go, and it's some of bullshit. Like, what did I do to you? I came in the game in the 80's! Now I have to live this. I have to navigate this my whole life in order to live my dreams."
He also goes off about people thinking racism is new and why majority of Africa is colonized by England. Plus, Jordan says this movie taught him an interesting lesson about the lack of leading roles for black male actors.

So, we’ve got the scoop on the line in the upcoming “Shots Fired” series that had FOX (and everybody) clutching their pearls. Find out inside…
The cast and crew of “Shots Fired” are still busy on the promo trail as the show’s stars and creators brought a screening of their new FOX series to the Paley Center for Media in NYC last night.
The fab folks answered questions during a Q&A moderated by Associated Press editor Nekesa Moody.
TheYBF.com was in the mix and believe us, this show is GOODT.
We were wondering how they got away with what they got away with, but we learned Fox put the kibosh on at least one line in the 10-hour movie (Director Reggie says we can't call them episodes!).
SPOILER ALERT!
Without giving away too much, Sanaa Lathan’s character Ash, who is a Dept. of Justice investigator, gets into a HEATED argument (we damn near stood up and clapped for the way Sanaa's character DRAGGED her) with her ex and her ex’s new boo over the child Ash and her ex share.
When Ash and her ex made it outside, she tells dude the ultimate line every woman wants to tell their ex.
“Does she know that when you’re inside of her, I’m inside your head?!”

Same, Tristan.
Apparently, the line was a bit too much for FOX execs because the show’s co-creator Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed they wanted it taken out of the episode. It’s unclear if the line will stay in by the time premiere night rolls around.
By the way, you'll see Sanaa like we’ve never seen her before. She’s a bad a**, super edgy investigator who gives zero f*cks. And we like it.
The YBF actress -- who starred in Gina's breakout movie Love & Basketball -- was definitely the muse behind Gina’s character she created, and she talked about it a little during the Q&A panel after the screening:

Towanda Braxton filed for divorce from her husband Andre Carter this past September, and her fans very likely let our a collective "Finally!" Not because anyone wishes divorce on a person, but because we all seen first hand just how damaging their relationship had become. Andre was no longer bringing a salary to the table, and it definitely affected their relationship from what viewers saw on the Braxtons' reality show.
On tonight's "Braxton Family Values" season 5 premiere, we're seeing exactly how messy this divorce is about to get.

The Brooklyn native was honored with the Key to his beloved borough and the Icon Award at the Brooklyn Borough Hall last week, on the anniversary of Biggie's death, hosted by Sharon Carpenter. And TheYBF.com was on the scene to salute the legendary artist on his special day.
YBF NYC correspondent Unique Chapman caught up with the “Lituation” rapper before he received recognition. He dished to us about how fellow Brooklynite Notorious B.I.G. helped paved the way for his illustrious career.
“Of course this is a great day for me to be honored on the same day that we also remember Biggie and remember what he brought to the game, he told TheYBF.com. “Hopefully, I’ll be able to continue to represent Brooklyn the same way he did.”
The event hosted several celebrity guests, including rapper Wale (below), producer Ryan Leslie (below), Swizz Beatz and reality star Tahiry Jose.
We chopped it up with Tahiry on the carpet where she expressed how happy she was to support an icon like Fab. Tahiry, who once dated the rapper back in the day, gushed about her long friendship with Fab (real name John David Jackson).
“When it comes to Fab, it’s personal to me because we go back to when he was rocking canary rocks, driving down my block and scooping me up in a Range Rover. I go back to his first album and I did one of the interludes. So we were like in our teens. And he was my first love. I had to be here. Congrats Fab, or like I like to call him, John.”
While their romantic relationship didn’t work out, they both continue to show love to one another.

Susan Kelechi Watson totally plays the black wife and mother that all need right now on the hit new drama series “This Is Us.” TheYBF.com caught up with the YBF starlet and she dished on exactly how she's nailing this part to perfection. Get it inside...
If you’re like us, you’re going through at least one box of tissue every week while watching NBC’s hit drama series “This Is Us.” The show is the ultimate tear jerker with the real life situations that everyone can relate to.
Susan Kelechi Watson plays Beth, the wife to Sterling K. Brown’s character Randall. Beth is a wife, a mother to two beautiful daughters, she has a career and she juggles it ALL without breaking a sweat. Or without losing her ish and reading everybody for absolute filth (even when she totally has every right to).
An article hit the net about Susan’s character, dubbing her the “unsung hero” of the series, and we would have to agree. She’s definitely the glue that holds the Pearson family together, especially when her husband is losing it. She's always calm, BUT she will pop off (nicely) and put someone in their place if need be.
We're loving that she's totally a YBF mom and wife folks can relate to.
Wegot the chance to chat it up with the “This Is Us” starlet -- whose favorite genre is surprisingly comedy -- and she explained perfectly why her character is such a breath of fresh air.
“Beth comes from a large family,” she spilled to TheYBF.com. “She’s used to having all these balls in the air. So, in a way, he got with the right chick. She kind of knows the family dynamic. Sometimes we’re the person in the family who takes care of everybody, sometimes we’re the person who gets taken care of and sometimes we’re the person who watches it all goes down. And somehow we kind of, through osmosis, learn how to take care of things because we’ve watched it happened. She grew up in a big Jamaican family, so she’s had her fair share.”
In case you haven’t caught up on the series just yet, Randall was left at a fire station (by his father) and ended up being raised by a white family. He eventually tracks down his biological father and they end up forming a relationship. But, they don’t have much time to spend together as his father has cancer. Randall decides to move his father into his home with his wife Beth and their two daughters. And ish got REAL.
As for how Susan’s character was able to handle the situation, she offered up the perfect response.
“It’s a time where he finds his birth father and they don’t have that much time together. Sometimes there are times when you just have to let somebody live. This is his moment, let me do what I can to help him get that time.”
Facts.
As we watch Susan hit more and more red carpets, we’ve noticed she’s morphing into a fashion darling. We asked her how she deals with red carpet mayhem -- especially when black stars have spoken up about being ignored by designers -- and here’s what she dished:
“I think because the show is what it is, I got the opportunity to team up with a stylist out the gate. But before the show, I was going to stores picking out my own stuff or wearing stuff out of my closet. I was just looking for somebody who reflects my personality and my style. I realized I didn’t have time to run to the store. It’s really about finding someone who knows your style, who's willing to work with you and to reflect that.”
She added:
“If certain designers choose to work with me or not, I’m not even privy to that conversation. I don’t want to know. Just bring me something that looks cute and fits.”

By the way, the “This Is Us” season finale set a new record! The mainstream drama nabbed the No. 1 spot for total viewers in the week it aired and it became NBC’s first scripted series to do so in almost 13 years. CONGRATS!
Needless to say, season 2 has already been announced and we can.not.wait!

He's Queen Latifah's GO-TO GUY for a reason!
While he has worked with an array of different entertainers, he specializes in dressing curvy girls. Celebrity stylist Timothy Snell has worked with the best of the best in the entertainment world, including creating stylish looks for Queen, Taraji P. Henson, Jazmine Sullivan, and Whitney Houston, just to name a few.
Now, he’s giving our YBF readers a head start on what pieces us curvy girls should be copping in preparation for summer 2017.
TheYBF.com shared some style tea with the genius Mr. Snell this week who gave us some serious tips for the hot season.
He shared the biggest obstacle in styling curvy women and the inspiration behind his brand new Always For Me collection (which is currently available on the brand's website).
If you’re a curvy girl, you know some of the struggles that come with searching for a bomb ensemble. And Timothy knows about that struggle all too well.
“The only obstacle I would say is I wish there were more style choices out there available for curvy women," he told TheYBF.com."When I style a curvy woman, I just approach the women as who she is. Anybody can bring a size 2 gown to someone and make it work. But, build a body, shape a body and work with curves that really shows true talent when you can work with a woman with curves.”
Mr. Snell, who stars in his own show "Curvy Style With Timothy Snell" on Centric, has created a collection of pieces for the Always For Me brand and he shared what inspired the pieces he created. He said:
“I wanted to give the modern, curvy woman options. I tried to design pieces that they could wear from the beach to the street.”
So here are Tim's FIVE must-have pieces every curvy girl should have in her wardrobe as this weather reaches "it's too hot for these Spanx" levels.
1. Every woman should have an a-line skirt.
“Know your body. Find out what works best for your body and your body type.”
2. Boss up on color!
“Summer is coming, don’t be afraid of color! I’m a big fan of monochromatic dressing. It has a way of making you look longer, taller, more polished and more sophisticated. Don’t be afraid to do a pop of color on the foot or a belt. Don’t be afraid to do a multicolored skirt or something. Color is big and bold for summer 2017 and I think curvy women should be more open to play with color.”
3. The off-the-shoulder shirt/blouse is hot this season.
“Know what you’re shopping for first, whether it’s day wear, evening wear or casual wear.” He revealed the off-the-shoulder shirt is a big trend in the fashion world right now, but don’t break the bank purchasing one.
4. Invest in a beautiful loafer, because the flat shoe game has been upgraded.
"These loafers these days, with the color, embroidery, the printing, invest in something like that. I believe in investment pieces and I believe in throwaway pieces. Trend pieces are what I call throwaway items. In those throwaway items, they should be inexpensive pieces."
5. Get you a pair of palazzo pants. You won't be disappointed.
“Huge palazzo pants that are very comfortable and slouchy. You can just throw on and dress it up with a blazer or pair it with an off-the-shoulder shirt or t-shirt."

Tre' Da Kid is ready to take the Hip Hop world by storm.
The Annapolis native was crowned as the rap battle king after competing in Verizon’s #FreeStyle50 challenge, beating out thousands of competitors. He won a "single-deal" with Kevin Liles’ 300 Entertainment label, a $10,000 grand prize and the opportunity to open during a 300 Entertainment concert.
Now, he’s ready to make his mark in the Hip Hop world.
TheYBF.com’s NYC correspondent James Terrell sat down with Tre Da Kid to chat about his musical inspirations and who he feels is the best rapper alive. While Jadakiss is his favorite rapper, he said Jay Z and Nas both hold the crown as the best rappers alive, but for different reasons.
“I’m a rapper’s rapper, he told TheYBF.com. I think Nas is the best rapper ever. I think Jay Z is the best rap artist ever. If I was on the street corner and I wanted to hear somebody kick something, I would ask Nas. But, if I wanted a complete body of work, I’m going with Hov all day. Everything behind his name is gold or platinum.”
Makes sense.
Tre’ touched on the quality of today’s rap music and he said he doesn’t think it's all bad, it just doesn’t have any feeling behind it. He wants to be the guy who brings feelings and emotions through his music.
“I want to bring the essence back to Hip Hop," he explained. "I want to be that dude responsible for bringing that feeling back. The music today is not bad to me, it just doesn’t have any feeling to it. I can’t always turn up. Sometimes we get sad, sometimes we want love. I just think that’s what’s missing in Hip Hop.”
He makes some very good points about wanting to bring different emotions to his music. We go through different emotions on a daily, and most times you want to listen to music that reflects how you’re currently feeling.

It’s official! Antonio Cromartie and his pregnant wife Terricka Cromartie will be sharing the ins-and-outs of their blended family love in a new reality show. Deets inside…
Last year, we told you NFL free agent Antonio Cromartie and his wife Terricka Cromartie, who’s currently pregnant again with his 14th child, would be getting their own reality show.
Now, TheYBF.com can confirm the show is actually happening. And sooner than you think.
Following news that Terricka will be giving birth to her husband’s 14th (no typo) child after Antonio allegedly underwent a vasectomy, a source close to the couple reveals to us they will be sharing their blended family love on an upcoming reality show in the coming months. We also confirmed that Terricka's child from a previous relationship is included in the 14 number.
Production is in place and a network has already picked it up.
Now, it’s just a matter of time before they take over our televisions.
When the couple first announced they were doing a reality show (while Terricka was pregnant with twins), the former "Candy Girls" star revealed the reason why they decided to put their lives in front of millions of people.
In an interview, she said they feel like the world has many misconceptions about them and they hope opening up their private life will change people’s perception of their unconventional family.
We all know treading reality waters can be tricky at times. The show could possibly change people’s perspective about them, but it can also go all the way left.
Either way, the Cromarties will be sharing it all soon. With this new pregnancy, they’ll have plenty of material to share.
We'll be watching, if only to get the answers to two questions: Will Antonio's "vasectomy" be addressed? And, will any of the other children's mother make any cameos? Y'all know Antonio's baby mamas were trying to land their own reality show years ago.
Congrats again to the couple.

Amandla Stenberg is starring in the upcoming romance drama Everything, Everything where she will play a teen with a disease that keeps her sheltered inside to stay alive.
YBF correspondent Unique Chapman sat down with the YBF actress and her co-star Nick Robinson to chop it up about the emotional flick. The movie is about finding your first love and we all know how difficult finding love is in our world right now.
There are so many means of communication these days with texting, social media, and messaging apps. You don’t even have to leave your house to meet new people, to be honest. Still, with meeting new people online, it’s easy to create the image you want someone to believe. When it’s time to actually meet that person, though, things can get awkward. And they did for Amandla.
