Last week on "Growing up Hip Hop: Atlanta," we saw Reginae Carter and Waka Flocka's brother Brandon face off at Tiny's daughter Zonnique's photoshoot. 

From what viewers can see, Reginae indeed came for Brandon first asking him "Who are you again?" when he critiqued Zonnique's look.  Z and her mother Tiny hired Brandon as Z's vocal coach.  According to Brandon, Z also wanted him to help her with her image.  So, he was there to work.  Reginae was there as her friend.

While 'Nae says she was simply defending her friend from his "negativity," was it really her place and did she do so respectfully?  Brandon didn't think so.  So he popped off right back at her.  Reginae, who wasn't yet 18, ran and called her mother Toya to "come get him".

This week, Brandon's mom Deb Antney and Toya face off about what happened.  Tiny gets involved, and Deb ain't having it. Toya isn't backing down either.

Irv Gotti opened up about his upcoming scripted series “Tales” and what it’s REALLY about. TheYBF.com got the inside scoop and you can find out what we learned inside…

Irv Gotti is gearing up to release his new scripted series “Tales” on BET. And your preconceived notions on what the series is about...are probably wrong.

Initially, folks believed “Tales” would be a behind-the-scenes look at what went down behind-the-scenes at the soon-to-be rebooted record label, Murder Inc. But, it’s nothing of the sort.

“Tales” is a Hip Hop anthology series that will use Hip Hop lyrics as the storyteller for each powerful episode that airs. Gotti chooses the songs and tracks, and creates a powerful tale around the lyrics, based on current social happenings.

The new BET show -- which we got to catch an advanced screening of recently -- brings hip-hop alive in a completely new way for television using songs like N.W.A’s “F**k the Police,” Notorious B.I.G.’s “I Got a Story to Tell,” Meek Mill's “Cold Hearted” and Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen.”  They serve as the backdrop to tell several different stories that black people experience in America.

That's not all, the record label honcho is also making his directorial debut.

Recently, Irv brought his crew (artists Black Child and Ja Rule above) to a screening of his new series in NYC.

What we learned from the episodes so far: One touches on police brutality and how it would be if racial roles were reversed. The episode opens with a black lawyer speaking about a murder that was committed by the police.  The lawyer looks into the camera and says, "Think of the boy that got shot by the police. Now imagine if he was white."

Then, things get interesting.

Irv told the audience:

"I want to state for the record that I'm not like Spike Lee.  You know what I'm saying?  I'm not that guy. I'm just a cool dude, you know.  I'm papi son and I'm just a cool guy. But when you see fu*cked up sh*t, I thought this was an opportunity. The whole concept of ‘Tales’ is taking these hip hop songs and then just being creative and bringing them to life in a way that you've never seen before."

He's got extra grown women losing their minds every time he comes on screen with his reality star mother.  They even chased us on the streets of New York.  Now, we've got Kairo Whitfield right where we want him -- shirtless.

We spent the day with the 6'6 20-year-old hottie in NYC recently.  And in between breaking out fans and spray mists to calm ourselves, we got the scoop on the college baller's new business.  He threw in some modeling & selfie tips, too.  Yessss.

Kairo is currently majoring in Economics at Morehouse College.  He's even pulling off the ultimate balancing act by killing it on the school's basketball team (he plays small forward), modeling part time, and launching his inspirational apparel and accessories line, the Kairo Whitfield Brand.

He's launching his limited edition “The World Is Yours” unisex T’s and bracelets/accessories today (which he rocked above during the shoot, paired with model/designer Bianca Stewart's Jesse Queen Collection pants).  He also dished to us that it's been tough trying to balance it all.

"It’s a lot of work honestly," Kairo revealed to TheYBF.com.  "You just have to get the job done.  Go to class, go to practice, model sometimes on the weekends.  It’s a lot of work but it can be done."
 

He's all about inspiring others, telling us:

"The line goes by the mantra "The World Is Yours".  Which is pretty much saying that you can do anything you put your mind to in this world.  And I want to use that to inspire other people."

By the way, he got the mantra from his fave movie Scarface.
 

So, how does he suggest we live our best selfie life (since he clearly knows what he's doing)?  We wanted his simple tips to be as demonstrative as possible, because we're visual learners and all.  So we had him explain by giving us a glimpse into how he gets ready in his college dorm room...while multitasking on his phone...shirtless. 

He also admitted that he's definitely down for the DMs, and those DMs have indeed led to some offline situationships....

Back up Porsha Williams, let us get our selfie class on before you swoop in (again).  Teach away, Professor Kairo!

To get those bomb selfies and DM-worthy flicks, Kairo says:

1. "Look into the camera.  It's most important."
2. "Make sure the lighting is perfect.  So scratch what I said before, THIS is the most important.  If you don’t have good lighting, you can’t take a good photo."

  3. "NO photobombers! Even if there’s a person walking by, or maybe just an elbow of theirs sticking out, that’ll ruin a photo."

  4. "Have fun with your pictures. Don’t be scared!  You have to be comfortable." 

  5. "Definitely don’t be scared to be sexy.  You can always be sexy."

Whatever you think you know about Dwyane Wade’s son’s mother Aja Metoyer, think again. She’s telling her side of her “situationship” with the NBA baller and it may shock you. Find out what she told TheYBF.com inside…

When news broke that Chicago Bulls baller Dwyane Wade was having another kid and his girlfriend (now wife) Gabrielle Union wasn’t the child’s mother all hell broke loose. When the news surfaced, it was alleged Dwyane and Gabby had "taken a break" from their relationship when Dwyane and Aja created a baby named Xavier Wade.

Everyone was soon wondering…who is this mystery woman?  Was she the side chick waiting on the sideline to get called into the “game?” Was she a one night stand?

Now, we have an answer…and more.

Stepping into the limelight, D. Wade’s son’s mother Aja Metoyer decided to join VH1's “Basketball Wives,” along with her sisters, Melissa and Kristen Metoyer. She joined the cast, in the season now airing, in an effort to give her sisters exposure so they could capitalize from the opportunity to further their careers. She has a "break baby" (a term she hates) with D. Wade and she also shares two daughters with Damon Wayans Jr., son of actor/producer Damon Wayans.

We chopped it up with Aja, who's busy working on her own athleisure collection, to ask some burning questions about her “situationship” with the married Chicago Bulls star.  Based on what she told us, their situation isn’t all that abnormal. There was no home wrecking involved, according to Aja. It boiled down to them being in the same circle and being friends for over a decade.

According to Aja, TV & movie star Gabby wasn’t a part of the equation when they hooked up.

“We share a lot of really close common friends, we’re apart of the same circle and been that way,” Aja tells TheYBF.com. “There’s a lot of respect there on both sides and I’m not a home wrecker, I’m not a mistress thinking my son is a price baby. I think my son is a child of god and a child.”

Their custody arrangement will stay underwraps as they have decided to keep that information confidential. She told us she can’t discuss it.

She did tell us that D. Wade is very much in his son’s life and there aren’t any limitations on when he can see his son. In fact, Aja and D. Wade have formed a great co-parenting relationship.

“He [Dwayne Wade] is an amazing person and there’s a lot of contrasts and similarities between both fathers, like they’re very amazing. They [D. Wade and Damon Wayans] love children, they’re both great, great, great fathers. I feel like I could not have picked better fathers. I think that like I have so much respect for the both of them, you know? And that’s basically, I just feel like in a father’s persona with both of my kids, I couldn’t have asked for more.

She continued:

“I would say the reason that we will always win and we have won thus far is. Everybody wants their kids to be good, like beyond good and to be healthy and to be stable and that’s the, at this point that’s the driving force with every relationship. It’s the kids.”

We’d like to note, Aja never mentioned Gabrielle Union's name and there doesn’t seem to be animosity between the two.

“I’m not a side chick. I’m not a home wrecker, you know, I’m not the new millennium Jezebel. I am a very active mother and a dedicated mom. I’m a good person in my heart. I will literally sacrifice myself for you.”

We all know how people may tell false truths to get whatever they want and Aja seemingly got caught up in some mess. Due to the timing of how things played out, it’s quite possible that half truths were being told when they got together.  It all depends on what you choose to believe.

Despite having preconceived notions about Aja, do you think she just got caught in the middle of relationship drama OR do you still think she knew what was going down the whole time?

TheYBF.com got the chance to chop it up with “Power” stars Omari Hardwick and Lela Loren.  And they got candid about what it was like to work with late comedian Charlie Murphy before his death. More inside….

Charlie Murphy was battling leukemia and few people knew about it when he was filming scenes for the upcoming 4th season of “Power.” In fact, after his death it came out that none of the cast even knew he was sick. He died at the age of 57 on April 12, 2017.

With last night's new season premiere, we now know Charlie plays a prison guard named Marshal Williams starring opposite of Omari Hardwick (James “Ghost” St. Patrick) who got arrested for the murder of FBI Agent Greg Knox. We all know he didn’t do it, but he’ll be fighting for redemption as he goes up against the judicial system, the media, old friends, new friends and enemies.

YBF correspondent Unique Chapman sat down with Omari Hardwick and his on-screen mistress Lela Loren where they spilled a few tidbits on what it was like working with Charlie Murphy on set.

“Perhaps you’re asking in terms of us knowing him as a comedy force, but you ain’t coming to Power to bring comedy. His task was a bit different in this,” Omari said.

“The scenes were long and intense, so I think you’re going to see a side of Charlie Murphy that people don’t know. It’s exciting,” Lela said.

It'll be interesting to see how his role ended up taking shape, and how he admirably took on something completely different in his career

We know three ladies who know exactly what it’s like to be passionate about something and then actually having it come into fruition. Their gems: It’s not easy. Everyone’s not going to celebrate you. And ish is just going to be hard. But, the fruit of your labor will definitely be well worth it, if you stick to it.

TheYBF.com got the chance the chop it up with the creators of the hit web series “Milk + Honey,” (which premieres on Issa Rae's YouTbe channel) and the ladies dropped some gems that you can apply to make your wildest dreams come true. Take notes! 

When you’re passionate about something, you just have to go out and get it, by any means necessary. And that’s exactly what Asha Kamali Blankinship, Dana Gills and Jeanette McDuffie have done.

They created a series -- on their own terms -- that most black women can relate to, especially when it comes to going after your dreams no matter what anyone has to say.

The ladies were able to nab Hollywood legend Debbie Allen and hottie Lance Gross to star in their series, simply by asking and utilizing previous relationships.

It’s one thing to have a vision about something you want. But it’s another to actually follow through with your plans and make it come to life, despite any negativity that may come your way.

So how did they do it? They didn’t ask for permission. Permission isn’t needed when you have a dream, according to the ladies. You just have to step out on faith and ask for what you want.

“It’s a lesson in ‘you have to ask’ for what you want,” the ladies told TheYBF.com. “You can’t wait for permission. You can’t ask for permission, you have to ask for courage.”

Howard alum Asha, who also stars in the series, revealed Debbie Allen became her mentor after meeting her at Howard University. She said keeping in contact with Debbie is what helped them get the ball rolling in casting for their project. Once Debbie signed on for the project, it was a breeze getting other stars, like her HU classmate Lance Gross and Boris Kodjoe, to sign on.

“Having someone like [Debbie] was an amazing experience. It’s a blessing to have Debbie on the project. When I was wearing multiple hats, having her there was the example of ‘I know I can do this.’”

So, what would the ladies like for the viewers to take away from the new season of the series?

“Go after your purpose. Not the glitz and glamour of it. Go after your passion. Passion is anything but glamorous. You lose a lot of friends, family and you meet a lot of dream killers. It’s something we’ve all actually lived. We’re taking what all of our friends and peers know to be true. You tell people you’re quitting your 9-5 to go after your dreams, it’s not a celebration. We hope people see themselves [in the series] and it inspires them. ”

The ladies also touched on the hot topics of inclusion and diversity in Hollywood:

“With the advancement of digital platforms [like Netflix & Amazon], they are picking up great content to help with [inclusion]. Those platforms provide a great space for diverse voices to exist and to thrive.”

Note from the ladies: If you feel strongly about whatever it is you’re trying to create, go for it and make it happen!

La La Anthony sheds light on what fans can expect from her role as Lakeisha in the hit series “Power.” Find out what she just told TheYBF.com inside…

First things first, Lakeisha (aka Keisha) is alive!

During the season finale of season 3 of “Power,” fans were left with a cliffhanger about whether or not La La Anthony’s character Keisha made it out of her shop alive. Now, we know she’s still here and has apparently kicked off a new relationship with Ghost’s (Omari Hardwick) right hand man, Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora).

In the most recent episode, we see Keisha telling Tommy she wants his and her bestie Tasha St. Patrick’s (Naturi Naughton) name off the lease on her beauty shop.  If you recall, they took over in order to launder drug money through her business.  The Feds are interviewing folks after Ghost’s arrest, including herself, so she’s shook.

The mother-of-one (in both real life and on screen) could possibly lose her salon and her livelihood. But, does she really want no parts of that drug life? La La seems to think she does, but she doesn’t really know what comes with the territory.

Maybe after getting it in with Tommy (*fans self*), she had a change of heart?

YBF correspondent Unique Chapman sat down with La La and her co-star Rotimi (Dre) to pick their brains about what's really going down this season.  The newly separated actress dished:

“You’re finally see Lakeisha and who she is, what she’s about,” La explained to TheYBF.com. “You’re seeing her in different relationships. She wants to be apart of this world so bad, but I don’t think she has a full understanding of what that means and as her hands get further into it she starts questioning, ‘Is this something I really want to do or not?’”

Going back and forth about whether she really wants to be apart of this drug world could be dangerous for Keisha. And it also will have an effect on her relationship with Tasha.

“Friendships are supposed to be built on honesty and loyalty. She [Tasha] wasn’t honest and she wasn’t loyal, so I still love her and she’s still my best friend, but it definitely causes some conflict and turmoil within our friendship which is going to be interesting to watch throughout the season.”

It’s definitely going to get interesting once Tasha finds out Keisha is sleeping with Tommy.  Hmph.

Meanwhile, Rotimi talked about how his character Dre is playing both sides between Ghost and Kanan (50 Cent) and how well the writers developed his character.  He's killing the role, by the way.

Say.That.Ish.LeToya.Luckett!  Our fave YBF chick just checked her cheating a** man who has all the apologies in the world in the third and final installment of her mini movie series.  And we've got the exclusive premiere.  Get into “In the Name (of Love)” inside...

In her third mini movie music video “In the Name (of Love)”, LeToya has some decisions to make (or stick to) after her man Omar, played by former NFL player, Thomas Q. Jones, gets GOT by his "best friend".  Men are often oblivious to their female besties' (you know, the ones they call their "sister") flirtations.  And in previous installments, we saw Omar cheat and kiss his best friend Cynthia after LeToya warned him about her sneaky ways.

Now that they've broken up, Omar gives her the standard "I don't know what I'm going to do without US" and "I need you" speeches.  

LeToya had the response we've ALL had to say a time or two: "Then act like it. I'm sick of words. I need to see actions. And until you can do that, don't waste my time."

Yasssss! 

Cynthia also popped back up in his life in the most AWKWARD of ways, and he's forced to choose between his best friend and the love of his life.

The feel-good track was produced by Warryn Campbell and appears on LeToya's bomb third studio album, BACK 2 LIFE, which is available on all digital music platforms. LeToya is also set to join Mary J. Blige's "Strength of a Woman" Tour starting tomorrow in Detroit.

Nope, Sheree' Whitfield is not about to walk down the aisle with an inmate, despite fake news stories circulating saying so.  Exclusive details inside...

Folks are having a field day with rumors of "RHOA" star Sheree Whitfield and her alleged locked up lover Tyrone Gilliam.

Remember the guy in season 4 who Sheree' called up during the epic argument between her and co-star NeNe Leakes, who walked out and said, "I'm Rich Bitch"?  We received false tea from someone claiming Tyrone is far more than just a friend. 

"Sheree' and Tyrone have always been close friends and continue to support each other," Sheree's rep exclusively tells TheYBF.com. "The rumors of being married are not true at all."

As for the wifey shirt pic, there's an explanation for that too.  Apparently, it's not new and was circulating a year ago, before these rumors started.

"The pics are from one of the only times she'd ever visited him, and it was August 2016," her reps tell TheYBF.com. "They're old pics and not recent."

Sheree's team doesn't deny their friendship saying, "She's not denying they're friends and close, but married is a stretch."

The divorcé is even calling on higher powers to help her find a "grown man." 

Her team made it clear:"She's single! Where are the GROWN MEN at? Get Steve Harvey on the line PLEASE!"

And about those new rumors of Sheree hatching an escape plan to get Tyrone out of jail, Sheree's rep says:

"This is so out of control now!  We are sick and tired of these other *** outlets reporting FAKE NEWS!"

Y'all can hold off on calling Diann Valentine to plan the prison wedding.  It ain't happening.

The 50-year-old mom of two, who also Executive Produced the film, hit her advanced screening at AMC 34th Street in NYC Wednesday to tell folks the masses need to go out and see this movie. If not, it'll be another 5 years before we see a woman in a lead role going savage on everybody.

But don't call her a man hater.  She reminded the audience that she definitely loves the menz (no typo), seeing that she's been married three times.

Marlon Wayans’ new show “Marlon” is oozing with black excellence and it's funny as hell. It's in large part due to black women keeping him in check. We chatted up Marlon about his boldly black move, plus see how his debut episode killed it in ratings inside…

Marlon Wayans is making a return to television with his brand new NBC comedy series, “Marlon.” A show based loosely on his own life.

It's all about family dynamics, closely inspired by his super famous real life family, as his character navigates co-parenting skills with his wife played by actress Essence Atkins.

TheYBF.com had dinner with the comedian/actor at Busboys and Poets in Washington, DC during the show’s premiere on Wednesday, and we got to the bottom of how he made this tv magic work.

He told us how he wanted his writer’s room to look: No more white people writing black storylines. Marlon wanted his writers' room to look most of the people in our room: Black women!

As for how he comes up with captivating content and not cross that line, he says the black women in the writers' room keeps him in check. Y’all know how we do:

It’s network television, so he can’t go too far, but he did say the show has enough edge to bring cable viewers back to network tv.

As a kid he always pictured himself on NBC because of the “Cosby Show.” While he had plenty of offers on the table, he decided to go with NBC because they allowed him to be him. And it’s obvious they have given him tons of control since he has a full writers room of black women helping him out.

Marlon and his children’s real life mother Angelica Zachary have a very special co-parenting relationship. They’re super cool. So, we asked Marlon if he had friends who tried to drag him for his non-conventional relationship with his children’s mother.

“You always got someone that has an opinion based on your life,” he told TheYBF.com. “You can hear your friends, but you have to listen to you instincts. You have to find what works for you.”

The comedian, who's also currently starring in Netflix's "Naked", posed it up with DC's WKYS radio host Danni Starr.

The debut episode pulled through with strong ratings too. According to Deadline,“Marlon” debuted with a 1.3 rating, the highest rating among the 11 new and returning scripted series on the Big 4 this summer. The series also measured 63% better compared to NBC’s time-slot demo average this summer.

"Love & Hip Hop" couple Peter Gunz and Amina are still trying to work out their relationship that was doomed from the start.  The couple, who share children together, did an exercise on tomorrow night's episode of "Marriage Boot Camp" where they discuss their balls of issues.  Amina threw him the infidelity ball -- of course -- and Peter proceeded to tell her she should take 5% of the blame.  Why?  Because she knew about his relationship and cheating with Tara before they even got married.

Amina swore he told her it would end once they got married, apparently because a piece of paper magically cures one of their cheating ways. 

Other couples even agree that Amina knew what she was signing up for with Peter's ex still in his life.

Plus, drama ignites when Amina starts to realize she’s in a lose-lose situation with Peter. By the way, Peter continues to sneak behind Amina’s back to talk to Tara even while on this show.  Of course.

The freestyle goes from lines about his bucket list item of smashing a set of best friends before he leaves this earth to clean lady parts to that $100M rumor to loving his real life Princess.

It took for all the marital and professional tension to come to a head before Tamar made an executive decision to get a new manager.  She credited her now estranged husband Vincent Herbert with getting her career to where it is and managing her basically her whole career since they've been married.  But telling him it's time for her to spread her wings and fly was NOT an easy thing.  Y'all know Vince is just as dramatic as Tay Tay.
