Karen Huger is reality tv gold. We're obsessed and not even ashamed about it. We've got an exclusive sneak peek at Sunday's edge-snatching episode of "RHOP" that proves why.

Lawd we love Karen Huger so much. Chick went from last week's wig fiasco at the park to snatching everybody else's wig and edges on the upcoming episode of "Real Housewives of Potomac."

 photo Screen Shot 2018-05-11 at 11.03.40 AM_zpsfofeqo5z.png

On Sunday's episode, the ladies continue their weekend escape in the woods, but it’s not quite as relaxing as Ashley (Darby) had hoped. Duh. What "relaxing" girls trip is ever relaxing on Housewives?

Y'all know Karen wasn't here for Gizelle Bryant or Robyn Dixon's "Uncle Ben" tax issue shade. So after a few glasses of champagne, Karen starts hurling insults at Robyn, leaving all the ladies fake confused.

All we know is, the dinner ends with Karen "yelling" a CONVINCING "Shut the f**k up" at Robyn.

So nasty and so rude.

"Real Housewives of Potomac" airs Sunday nights on Bravo at 8/7c.

EXCLUSIVE: Gabrielle Union Dishes On Real-Life Mama Bear Behavior, Joins 'Breaking In' Cast On Why We Need To Talk About Sexual Assault & Heroines

Gabrielle Union is super fun and super lit (at all times). But don't get it twisted. Chick also gets on her Mama Bear steez, pushes hard for heroines and isn't scared of sexual assault discussions. It's clearly rubbed off on the rest of her "Breaking In" cast too. Our exclusive chat inside...

From being uber protective of her fellow Clovers to acting like Mama Bear to save her onscreen (and off screen) kids, Gabrielle Union's wearing every hat these days. She put on her Executive Producer wide brim hat - which means she's putting her money where her mouth is to make sure this flick gets a push - for Breaking In, so we definitely needed to talk to her and the cast about it all.

 photo J042518C-1027_zpsmhqmjfbj.jpg

 photo J042518C-1046_zpsvxivalo7.jpg

TheYBF.com's Natasha Eubanks sat down to ki-ki with the actress & budding business mogul, her doppelganger movie daughter Ajiona Alexus (like, seriously, casting needs an award for nailing that), and producer and director Will Packer& James McTeigue. And yes, Gabrielle Union-Wade is THAT mom who goes up to her stepsons' school and is with the sh**s.

Nobody held back about why women empowerment was put on a pedestal in this film, and why sexual assault needs to be addressed on screen.

Check it out above.

Sandy "Pepa" Denton is dishing on her new sex life just days after her messy new relationship was exposed. We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the tea she spilled on her and her daughter's dating lives inside...

Let's talk about sex, baby!  Pep is back in the saddle.  She's single and extra ready to mingle.

We know now that the new man in her life is (was?) a legally married man named Aundre Dean.  When his estranged and pregnant wife, Jordyn, blasted them for cheating, Pepa deleted him from her page (he didn't delete her from his though) and we haven't heard about him since.

On tomorrow night's season premiere of "Growing Up Hip Hop", Pep talks a little about getting back out there.

But what we're even more shocked about are her dealings with her daughter, Egypt's, new man.  He's jobless, but Pep recently stepped in and bought a whole car for him to use to make money. Oh?

Check out our exclusive sneak peek below:

EXCLUSIVE: Ava DuVernay Gushes Over 'Queen Sugar' Composer Meshell Ndegeocello's Musical Art - Go Inside 'Queen Sugar' Garden Party

Ava DuVernay hosted an intimate garden party to celebrate the upcoming season of "Queen Sugar" and TheYBF.com was on the scene to soak it all in. Watch Ava praise composer Meshell Ndegeocello and her musical talents, plus peep pics from the soiree inside...

The third season of the hit OWN series "Queen Sugar" is about to return to our TV screens and we're MORE than excited about it. We've been having "Queen Sugar" withdrawals.

As we come up on the season 3 premiere date, the series' writer/director/executive producer Ava DuVernay hosted a garden party at Ladureé SoHo in NYC that promised to bring the spirit of New Orleans to the Big Apple.

It was a total celebrity affair as several YBF stars were in the mix to celebrate the show, including the cast Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Kofi Siriboe, Rutina Wesley and Bianca Lawson. Other celebrities included actress/comedian Tiffany Haddish, singer Maxwell, VOGUE Editor-at-Large André Leon Talley, and actor Michael K. Williams, to name a few. Also, one of the "Central Park Five" men - Corey Wise (above, right) - was there. If you haven't heard, Ava's working on a five-part scripted series about the notorious Central Park Five for Netflix.

Ms. DuVernay took a moment to speak before the party guests, thanking them for their support and she also shouted out all of the stars in the building. There was one star that's likely less known, but if you watch the show, you at least know a part of her.

Ava praised "Queen Sugar" composer Meshell Ndegeocello, a 10-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and bassist, for the extraordinary work she has presented over the three seasons of the drama in a video, captured by YBF correspondent Unique Chapman. The fab directress gushed over Meshell's artistry that has brought the show to life.

"Did you know that Meshell Ndegeocello is our composer for three seasons now? Every time you listen to [a song on the show] you're basically listening to a new piece of art by Meshell. And so, it's another gift that Queen Sugar gives to you."

The music definitely helps create the emotions the writers want you to feel. We all know Ava is a huge advocate for creating work for female creatives, especially black females.

"She's been a long time musical love of mine, so when I approached her and asked her if she would be willing to compose for the show, she was so gracious and so generous with her time and her talent. But also she became part of a very small tribe: Black Women Compose For Film & Television. You can literally count them on one hand. It's not a good thing, but she is brilliant and she's the first of many."

By the way, Meshell just dropped a new album titled, Ventriloquism, and Ava said it is BOMB. Meshell also performed a jazzy set during the party.

Peep the clip above.

We love how Ava continues to push for women's voices to be heard in film and television.

EXCLUSIVE: '211' Star Cory Hardrict Has Totally Different Daddy Feels With His New Baby Girl, And It's The Sweetest Thing

 photo corydad.png

Father's Day is right around the corner! TheYBF.com chopped it up with new dad again Cory Hardrict and he's happily drowning in all the new daddy feels. It's a bit different this time around and it's the sweetest thing ever. More inside...

With Father's Day this weekend, we know one dad who's going to be living it up with a double dose of kiddie cuteness.

Cory Hardrict and his wife Tia Mowry Hardrict just welcomed their new baby girl on May 5th. And life for one of our fave YBF Dads has been crazy, but he's loving every minute of it.

The 38-year-old seems to have this dad/career balancing act down to a science. He's been busy on the promo trail for his new thriller, 211, where he plays a cop who's involved in one of the biggest bank robberies in police history.  But, when he's not working, he's on daddy duty - changing diapers, feedings, all that.

"I have not slept. I haven't slept since May 5th. She's up all hours of the night," Cory shared with TheYBF.com.

 photo corybaby1.png

Awww!

Doing it for the second time, Cory seems to have mastered this dad thing.

"I'm doing it all. I'm a dad expert now. At first I started really slow. When I started changing diapers, I wasn't going fast enough. I learned the hard way, you gotta move fast or you're in trouble."

Ha!

 photo corybaby2.png

He said Baby Hardrict and mom Tia "are doing great." And so his 6-year-old son Cree Hardrict, who celebrates a birthday later this month.

"He's doing really good. He helps out a lot. He's going downstairs and getting bottles, stuff like that. He definitely knows he has a little sister to look after. He's great."

Aww! We see Cree is killing it at being a big brother already.

Now that Cory is the father to a little girl, he doesn't plan on treating her any differently than her big bro. However, he can't help but feel a different type of connection and energy with his daughter than he does with his son.

"I'm not saying I'm going to treat her different, but I do feel like a more of a softer, calmer connection because she's my daughter. And I'm more gentle with her in every way, like when I'm changing her diaper...everything. I love my kids the same. Both kids require different things, so I just adjust accordingly."

We tried to get him to give us some clues or tidbits about the baby before Tia announces her name on June 29th, but he wasn't going for it. "I can't do that, I'll get in trouble," he responded. Respect!

For his newest project, Cory plays a cop just like he did in 50 Cent's"The Oath." They're drastically different characters and Cory slayed at both.

"It was a difference because the cop I played in 'The Oath,' he's on both sides of the fence. The cop in '211,' he's just an all around good guy. He just wants to protect and serve and do the right thing, so that was the difference. I enjoyed playing both of them though. I enjoyed this character because he just wanted to save people and help people. I really think that's what we all should do."

By the way, "The Oath" has been renewed for a second season on Crackle. Dude stays booked.  Not mad.

While the Brotherly Love actor is in full daddy-mode with the new baby, he hasn't forgot about sports life. He's a LeBron James fan and would love to have him come to the west coast.

"He's done his job in Cleveland, come on out West."

That would be an interesting move.

You can see Cory Hardrict and "Power" star Michael Rainey Jr. in 211 in theaters now! It's also available on VOD and Digital HD.

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Rainey Jr. Says 'Tariq' Would Have Been Wildin' Out If He Was In '211' + His Interesting Take On Cops

 photo miachaelrainey.png

Michael Rainey Jr.'s career is taking off as he's starring in the new action thriller 211.

TheYBF.com chopped it up with the fresh face about his role in the film and how it compares to his character Tariq in "Power," his feelings about cops these days and more. Get it all inside...

Michael Rainey Jr.'s acting career is taking off and it's showing no signs of slowing down. TheYBF.com got the chance to talk with the 17-year-old actor who's making a name for himself in Hollywood and on the silver screen.

For his latest project, Michael plays a young civilian, named Kenny, who gets caught in the middle of one of the longest and bloodiest bank robberies in police history in a new action thriller titled 211, starring oppositeCory Hardrict and Nicolas Cage. The film was actually inspired by a real bank robbery that happened in Los Angeles in 1997, dubbed the "Battle of North Hollywood."

We asked Michael, if his (annoyingly problematic) "Power" character 'Tariq St. Patrick' was in his 211 character Kenny's shoes, what would Tariq do if he was caught in the middle of a police shootout with brutal bank robbers?

"If Tariq was being bullied, it would be a totally different story," he told TheYBF.com. "I wouldn't even want to talk about that. Tariq would have bugged out. That would be cool to see how Tariq would handle it."

Wouldn't it? Tariq probably would feel right at home if he was involved in a shoot out with police with the way he's been acting on the "Power" series.

In his personal life, the young actor said he hasn't really had any interactions with police, so he doesn't really have an opinion on them. However, he's quite aware of everything going on, particularly with black people.

"I don't really have a outlook on cops because I don't encounter police," he explained. "But, I see the bad cops and I see good cops as well, so I really don't have a set outlook. If I encountered bad cops, then obviously I would have a bad outlook on them. If I had a good experience, I would have a good outlook on them."

With Drake's new album SCORPION dropping tomorrow, Michael's got an opinion about the rapper's beef with G.O.O.D. rapper Pusha T. He said he wasn't picking sides, but he def feels like Pusha murdered Drizzy on wax.

"I can't even say I'm on a team, but I'm not even going to lie, Pusha did body Drake," he said. "OMG! I don't even know why Drake fans are trying to argue that. He murdered him. I'm still waiting for Drake's response, but I don't think he can top Pusha's diss." We agree.

By the way, the youngin' isn't stopping at acting.  The YBF Teen is about to make his directorial debut.  Yes, before he's even 18.

"This summer I'll be directing a short film," he revealed. "It's going to be my first directing job." Michael will be making his directorial debut this summer as he'll helm a street drama about a kid with an older brother who has gone off the wrong path.

That's all the details he would spill about the project, but we're interested in seeing what he comes up with.

211 is in theaters now! It's also available on VOD and Digital HD.

Also, catch Michael in the new season of "Power," which returns on July 1st at 9pm EST on STARZ.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Tariq' On 'Power' Needs To Get Snatched Up One GOOD Time, But Omari Hardwick Says Blame 'Ghost' Too

We still have more than 24 hours before "Power" is back on our TV screens.  To hold us all over, TheYBF.com chopped it up with Omari Hardwick and he gets deep while explaining his problematic a**, on-screen son, "Tariq".

"Power" season 4 left us all in turmoil as "Tariq St. Patrick" (played by Michael Rainey Jr.) watched dirty cop Ray Ray take his little sister Raina's life in the street. And we all wanted to fight Tariq, who essentially let his innocent twin sister take the bullet meant for him.

After the murder, Tariq was still on some crazy ish, lying to police about what really happened to his sister. Well, he didn't exactly lie. He said he didn't know what went down, but we all know he was just feet away from his sister and watched her get gunned down in the street.

So who's to blame for Tariq's problematic a** decisions and unpredictable behavior? According to Omari Hardwick, it's Ghost's fault!

Still buzzing from last night’s @power_starz premiere! #STARZ

A post shared by STARZ (@starz) on

We chopped it up with the super talented "Power" star about why we should all be mad at Ghost for Tariq's reckless actions. He revealed that being a father, you pretty much failed as a parent if you can't trust your kid.

"Everything is about fathers and sons," Omari told TheYBF.com's correspondent James Terrell."That doesn't denote that it's not about fathers and daughters, but it's truly about fathers and sons. And certain ways of breaking cycles that have ill-fated, we know."

It feels like Tariq is going to take a turn for the worse and Ghost really isn't sure how to handle it, because his son is a reflection of himself.  #Deep

"If I can't necessarily trust Tariq but so far, the light has to be shown back to me," Omari said. "He doesn't trust me. I haven't been honest with him. So we did want to see Ghost put his foot in his son's a**. The reality is, we come from a culture that often does a lot of physical show of punishment because we got and received a lot of physical show of punishment."

While fans may have wanted to see Ghost gather Tariq within an inch of his spoiled life, because that's how we all grew up, it seems to be more than that for Ghost. Omari said his co-star Lela Loren told him, "Ghost is not necessarily that into being honest," and he couldn't agree more.

"It's not about not knowing how to be honest, but it's about not being taught how to do it," Omari explained. "We root for Ghost, but we root for him because we do see that he's trying to figure out how to be honest. But how are you honest about the realities of that which you didn't want to do?"

Here's how Ghost sees it, according to Omari: Since Tariq's mom "Tasha St. Patrick" (Naturi Naughton) and uncle Tommy (Joseph Sikora) "wanted to do the drug thing," why should he have to tell him about something he didn't even want to do in the first place.

Hmm...what do you all think about that? Does Ghost just need to whoop Tariq's a** one good time? For the culture and off principle? Or, is it too late?! Maybe they need a heart-to-heart and a good whooping because Tariq is spiraling out of control. And we.can't.take.it.

Check out a sneak peek from the first episode of Season 5 where Tasha and Ghost question Tariq about why Ray Ray was following him in the first place:

In case you missed it, check out our interview with "Power" star Michael Rainey Jr. where he talks about how Tariq would handle the police in a different situation HERE.

We're hours away from "Power" returning for Season 5!  Tune in tomorrow (Sunday, July 1) night at 8p ET on Starz & the Starz app.

Model and radio host Melyssa Ford just survived a near fatal crash involving an 18-wheeler on an L.A. freeway. The photos of the aftermath prove the scary accident VERY likely could have ended differently. Full story inside.

"Hollywood Unlocked" podcast host Melyssa Ford is lucky to be alive after a horrific car accident Thursday that resulted in her needing surgery.

We're told the 41-year-old former video vixen was riding westbound on LA’s Ventura Freeway to Glendale when an 18-wheeler merged into her lane and clipped her back tire.  The "impact sent her 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited into a tailspin and the vehicle flipped three times before landing upside down."

She was rushed to an L.A. hospital, where she is still under constant observation, after EMTs surrounded her while lying at the side of the freeway as she when she regained consciousness. EXCLUSIVE: 'Power' Star Rotimi Says Dre's Smarts Will Shock You This Season (And He's Right)+ Joseph Sikora Reveals Which Scene Caused Him Not To Eat!

$

 photo rotimi4.png

It's going to be a big season for Rotimi's character Dre and Joseph Sikora's character Tommy in the new season of "Power." The actors dropped some tidbits on TheYBF.com on what fans can expect and it may shock you. Get into it inside...

 photo rotimi1.png

Season 5 of the hit crime drama series "Power" finally premieres tonight and we've got a little something to hold you over before your ears hear,"They say this is big rich town, yeaaahhh...."

Quick recap! In the season finale of season 4, Tommy (Joseph Sikora) found out that Dre had him set up and now he's out for blood. When Tommy gets a location on Dre, he found out that he was meeting with dirty cop Ray Ray, the man who gunned down young Raina in the street. Tommy ends up figuring out that Ray Ray is the shooter after Kanan tips him off.

Tariq ends up getting to Ray Ray's apartment first and ends up shooting him dead. Ghost, Tasha and Tommy rush the room moments after Tariq shoots Ray Ray. Ghost asked Tariq how did he know where to find Ray Ray and he told them Dre. That's the moment they both knew he had to be next on their hit list.

So, here we are. Wondering WTF's going to happen when season 5 starts.

 photo rotimi3.png

Rotimi/"Dre" is about to emerge as the vilian we love to hate, and it's going to shock the sh*t out of you.

"I think this season, people are going to see how intelligent he actually is, how brillant he his, how calculated he is," Rotimi told YBF correspondent James Terrell during a recent sit down.

"But also, they're going to be able to respect that he didn't have a Ghost /Tommy relationship where his brothers learned from each other. He's going trial and error trying to figure out how to be this kingpin he's been wanting to be. So, the journey of that this season to see how he's going to handle it when everybody's against him is probably one of the most brilliant things Courtney [Kemp] has done this season."

Chile...

 photo 29186676_1822985297754386_336520029195468800_o_zpsmwwfqclr.jpg

This dynamic among Dre, Ghost and Tommy will be a doozy this season. And we can't forget Kanan (50 Cent) since he seemingly joined forces with Ghost and Tommy following Raina's death. Definitely not the three amigos you ever want joining forces against you.

Rotimi tells us he went back and studied Ghost's mannerisms from season 1 & 2 (come on, ACTING!), He wants fans to see he's similar to Ghost, but that he's his own man.

We've already seen the season premiere, and we gotta say, he nails it.  That's what we call: Work.

 photo rotimi2.png

As Dre tries to make his rise to the top of the drug game, Tommy is trying to figure out how to get his own ish together. He's looking for revenge and redemption and he'll do anything to get it.

"It's going to be life and death [for Tommy]," Joseph told TheYBF.com recently.

"This is going to be a huge season in many ways for Tommy. He's going to put it all on the line. But, we get to see a Tommy who has remade himself in his own image many times. I think this is the first season where he's going to remake himself in a new image. I think he has finally learned at least partially from his old faults and has capitalized them and will actually use some of the finesse he learned from Ghost, but essentially he's equal parts Kanan and equal parts Ghost."

He said Tommy is 99.8% exactly like Tommy was in the first episode of the first season, but there's an itty bitty difference.  And that difference is EVERYTHING, and was "exciting for me to deliver."

Since we met Tommy, he has always been the trigger-happy, no-nonsense gangsta who would do anything Ghost asked him to do. "Canceling Christmas" for Tommy never seemed like an issue for him, except when he took the life of his then-pregnant girlfriend Holly. R.I.P.

He dished to us:

"The killing Holly scene was like probably my toughest day at work. That day at work was 12-14 hours, but just the killing Holly scene was 10 hours with a lunch break in the middle. I didn't eat. I was like ummm...."

Damn. We can't blame him. The scene was just as hard to watch.

In case you missed, check out our other interviews with "Power" stars Omar Hardwick and Michael Rainey Jr.HERE and HERE.

Well folks, it's almost time! The new season of "Power" kicks off TONIGHT at 8pm EST on STARZ. Y'all ready?!

EXCLUSIVE: After Everything Tasha Has Gone Through On 'Power,' Naturi Naughton Offers Up Some REAL Advice For Women

$

 photo naturiteaser.png

Throughout every season of "Power," Tasha St. Patrick has overcome several hardships and many of those hardships are relatable to all women, everywhere. Naturi Naughton offers up a some gems for all the "Tashas" in the world. Find out what she told TheYBF.com inside...

Tasha St. Patrick has been THROUGH it on "Power." Since the beginning.

She found out the man she committed her life to was cheating on her with his first love, her marriage is barely hanging on by a thread, her side piece Shawn got killed (by his own father), her husband Ghost got locked up, her son Tariq is totally out of control and now her light, her daughter Raina, has been shot and killed.

Oh, and let's not forget how she had to end her "situationship" with her lawyer Terry Silver. He gave her an ultimatum saying she had to choose between him being her boyfriend or her lawyer. She chose lawyer, but y'all know she's about to renig on that ASAP.

 photo tasha2.png

She's done her dirt when necessary.  But Tasha is like most real life moms & wives, always the one keeping things together.  And that's why so many women can relate to her.

While she is one of the most relatable characters on the show, she sometimes does some questionable things. Like, when she felt some type of way about Ghost wanting to go clean and leaving the drug game behind. Chick wasn't ready to give up all that coin for small coin.

 photo tasha1.png

Naturi Naughton tells us that this season Tasha is close to her breaking point. During a convo with YBF correspondent James Terrell, the new mom in real life told us that fans will see a different side of Tasha.

"This is the first time where you get to really see her be vulnerable because she has been this strong, keeping it together woman, who's like 'I got this.' But, at some point any woman, no matter where you're from, you're going to have a moment," Naturi told TheYBF.com.

Very true. Every person has a moment where they are just lost and not sure about their next move.

The singer/actress, who has seen her fair share of drama in this industry, dished up some advice on how to navigate hardships. And it requires you actually feeling the feels through therapy, crying, or any other way.

"You do need to break down," Naturi said. "You do need to cry it out. You do need to pray it out. You do need to ask for help. You do need therapy. There are scenes in this episode where she wants to do counseling. And Tasha's seeking counseling because she's like, 'I can't do this alone. I need the help of other mothers who have lost a child.' And another issue that I think is very real and should be talked about, particularly in our community, there's nothing wrong with that."

Being strong doesn't mean doing it all on your own, though.

"You can be a strong woman and I still have a moment when you need to break down," the "Power" star explained. "You can be a mother and still say I need help. I can't do this alone."

That's something many women struggle with, especially black women since we're always expected to be the "strong black woman." But, we're so much more than that.

"Tasha represents strength, but she should also represent humanity," Naturi shared. "She should represent vulnerability. She should be able to have, just like any other woman out there, a moment to feel the pain she's experiencing. And you'll see her pick herself back up, but you'll go down this journey with her where she's just like, 'I don't know if I can make it.'"

We definitely can't wait to see what brings Tasha to her breaking point.

 photo naturiteaser2.png

In the end, Naturi said she wants women to start empowering themselves and stop putting men at the forefront of everything. She summed it up in two words, "Choose You."

Speak.On.It.Sis.

Social Media has literally taken over our lives in more ways than one. And it's not always for the best.  Sorry To Bother You stars Tessa Thompson and LaKeith Stanfield offer up so interesting takes on how the platforms are invading our spaces. Find out the genius they exclusively tell TheYBF.com inside...

Social media is taking over our lives. This is not up for debate.

It seems our lives have been transformed where we're constantly watching a never-ending show of people sharing literally everything about themselves, from new relationships, breakups, your baby's first words (or first everything), political jargon, vacation pictures, etc. The list goes on and on...

The new movie Sorry To Bother You is based in the 70s, but many of the same social themes are still quite relevant today: Race relations, corporate greed, classism, making changes to not scare white people at your lucrative job, the plight of working class citizens and more. Shocker? Nope.

Inspired by his time as a telemarketer, writer/director Boots Riley (Pictured at left, above) created a film filled with comical satire about a guy named Cassius Green (played by Lakeith Stanfield) who nabs a job at a telemarketing company in Oakland. He got the job to impress his girlfriend Detroit (played by Tessa Thompson) and to pay back his Uncle Sergio (played by Terry Crews).

 photo STBY-lakeithandtessa.png

Stars Tessa Thompson and Lakeith Stanfield sat down to chop it up with TheYBF.com to share what they want people to take away from the film.

"My hope is that people come to the story with an open mind and are able to receive and retain whatever they feel personally," Lakeith told YBF correspondent Unique Chapman . "I can say what I took from Cassius, just reinstating the idea to remain steadfast and tenacious in your pursuit of not only higher and better things for yourself, but also a sense of self and identity in the world. And just be willing to fail so you can grow. So I hope people can see the parallels between those things."

These days, it's hard for people to construct their own ideas and views about certain situations and topics when folks are trying to keep up with the Joneses on social media. Folks are seemingly becoming desensitized. Tessa and Lakeith definitely notice it and have some ish to say:

"In terms of dehumanization, social media is incredible for being able to disseminate information and create community, but I think we also get into a space where we're bombarded with images and we feel disconnected from the fact that they are happening in actual in this click bait culture," Tessa explained to TheYBF.com.

"I think if you show people images enough, human beings become comfortable with things after a while and we adapt," Lakeith shared. "We've always had to adapt but now there's less censorship."

He continued, "But, the internet is also a place where you can be insensitive and that's OK because you're removed from the experience. So you can say and feel and do things that you wouldn't do in real life. So in a sense, it feels like people are becoming less sensitive but I don't think that's the case. People are more sensitive, but now we just have these avenues that we can explore and safely not have to come into contact with these things. So, I say spend less time on the internet everyday and get back on the ground."

Peep our exclusive interview with the actors below:

Lakeith is dropping some truth serum on the masses. Do you agree with his point? Are people more sensitive now? Or, does it seem like they are since we now have different platforms to express our sensitivity?

Sorry To Bother You will be in select theaters July 6th and everywhere else on July 13th.

EXCLUSIVE: Why There Will Never Be A 'Power' Prequel Or A Fan-Driven Episode

$
0
0

 photo powerprequel3.png

We're sure you all are wondering what life was like for all the characters in "Power" before we met them, but we'll never get a prequel to see. Why? Find out what "Power" creator Courtney Kemp Agboh told TheYBF.com about a prequel and a fan-driven episode inside...

We're right in the thick of "Power" after Ghost and Tasha buried their daughter Raina after she was gunned down in the mean NYC streets. Deep sigh.....mainly at Tariq.

There's a lot of death in the STARZ series, but that one likely hurt fans the most thus far.

Throughout the seasons, the characters talk A LOT about their past, but we've noticed we've never seen any flashback scenes of them as kids/teens. How did Ghost and Tasha meet? How did Ghost, Tommy and Kanan meet? How ruthless was Ghost back in the day? We've heard about it, but we've never seen it.

And we never will, according to the show's creator Courtney Kemp Agboh.

 photo courtneykemp.png

The reason? Courtney feels like showing teens involved in selling drugs and having sex just isn't something she wants to put across our television screens. And if she did, she feels it would be "detrimental to the culture."

"No. I, Courtney, don't want to make a show about 15-year-olds f*cking and selling drugs," Courtney told YBF correspondent James Terrell."I don't think we need to see that."

She continued:

"So every time anyone asks me about a prequel, I'm like 'Oh, you didn't think that all the way through. Because what you thought about were Kanan, Ghost and Tommy. But, you have to recast these people. Now they're Ghost and Tommy as 15-year-olds. Now, Kanan is a 19-year-old, that's not 50 Cent, that's some other group of people."

Plastering teens on television selling drugs isn't imagery she wants to put out in the universe. We get it.

"It's these young, black, poor, broke kids selling drugs to other young, black kids. Now we're seeing this 16-year-old Ghost killing. I don't want to do that. I'm not interested in that show. That show makes me very sad. There's a reason I didn't do that. There's a reason we've never seen those flashbacks. I think that's more detrimental to the culture. That is my soul reason."

 photo powerprequel4.png

Outside of not wanting to tell that story, Courtney feels like it's no point really.

"My storytelling reason is they don't die because we already have 'Power,' so how do I set stakes? What's scary? Seriously, what's scary? If you put young Ghost and Tommy with someone with a gun, you know they live. So how do I even tell that story? So, no. If you want more story, that's one thing. That's possible, but it would only go in the forward direction, it wouldn't go back."

Makes sense!

With the success of the show, fans have become attached to the characters and often times write up their own scripts of what they would like to see happen on their social media accounts. While fans can come up with some good storylines, Courtney said she'll never write an episode to try and please the fan base.

"Nope. Never. You can't," she responded.

"We wrote the show based on what the vision for the show was. I have never deviated from that. I refuse to let fans have input on what we do with the show. We will only kill the show that way. The show isn't about what you want to happen, the show is about what's surprising and the inevitable," she continued.

 photo powerprequel2.png

She said she enjoys shocking fans with crazy twists and turns they haven't already thought of so they can be hungry for next week's episode.

"By the way, the show then would become fan fiction. Fan fiction is what you imagine you want to happen with the characters. You have to let people have that because then they come to the show like 'I hope this happens' and then when it doesn't happen, but it's something else, then they have the reaction that I'm looking for, which is like, 'Oh sh*t! I can't believe what's going to happen the next episode.'"

"For example, if I did an episode of Ghost and Angela got married and lived happily ever after, why are you watching the show after that? The central question of the show has been answered, why are you watching now?"

Very true. But, can she please get Ghost to whoop Tariq's a** real quick? Just one GOOD time!

The next episode of "Power" premieres this Sunday, July 8th at 8pm EST on STARZ.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Sorry To Bother You' Stars Omari Hardwick & Terry Crews Dish On Privilege, Protests & Switching It Up As A Black Man

 photo STBY-OmariTerrySteven.png

Sorry To Bother You stars Omari Hardwick and Terry Crews open up about how we sometimes have to switch up to land a job, or even survive. Find out what the former football players-turned-actors told The YBF.com inside...

Sorry To Bother You follows an unemployed twenty-something named Cassius Green who gets a job to impress his activist girlfriend Detroit (Tessa Thompson) and to pay his Uncle Sergio (Terry Crews) rent since he and girlfriend are living in his garage.

The Oakland native gets a telemarketing job, but wasn't good at it. His co-worker Langston (Donald Glover) noticed him having trouble connecting with customers, so he encouraged him to "use his white voice."

Have you ever been there?  Having to change up something about yourself in order to excel at job or to even land a job in the first place?

Stars Omari Hardwick and Terry Crews are former football players-turned-actors, on top of being black men. We all know they've maneuvered through different spaces to make it to the next level.

 photo STBY-oamri.png

Omari, who plays super telemarketer Mr. Blank, told us how sometimes folks in the black community have to adjust and bend due to societal norms - blacks "aren't supposed to talk a certain way" or "look a certain way" or even "know certain things." Often times, you can be on either side of the spectrum and still not get ahead: They say get an education, but being a black man with an education will make you "too educated." Basically, we can't win.

Here's how Omari broke it down:

"The reason that Asians are considered the model citizen is because they're need not be because they didn't come to the country to build it from a soiled and toiled stand point," he told YBF correspondent Unique Chapman.

"This country... There need not be the level of aggression out of anger because you don't have any money. So the level of aggression out of anger because you don't have any money is usually painting brown people in America. So it's interesting you have to do certain things to get jobs or get commerce. The divide is about money. If you can figure out how to make money by not being aggressive, or not necessarily being angry, or becoming most imperatively educated, then it dilutes some of that aggression that people see in you."

He continued saying education levels the playing field, but can still bite you in the ass:

"Education is the equalizer," Omari said. "But then sometimes, if you sound too educated and you don't look the right color to be "educated" within our country, people have constructs about what you're supposed to sound like and act like. So the reality is you often times have to switch all types of things to get jobs, just to survive."

Preach!

Star Terry Crews, who was drafted into the NFL in 1991, opened up about the craziest thing he ever had to do to secure a job. It involves being basically naked during the NFL combine and "feeling like an animal" because of their "inspection".

See their interview below:

Speaking of real world ish playing out on the big screen...

 photo STBY-bootsriley.png

TheYBF.com also spoke with writer/director Boots Riley, who makes his directorial debut in Sorry To Bother You, where he opened up about creatives who don't use their art/platform to show what's really happening in the world. Here's what he said:

"I think that if people were making art that reflected what really happens in the real world there's no way to keep the way the world works out of it," Boots Riley told us.

"So, I don't think that it's only that people have a duty to talk about these things. I think that if you're duty is even to make art that's relevant to the world, that it has to include in these worlds that you're creating rebellion and resistance," he continued.

He said when you're making up an created world, you're still going to end up having some type of reflection of what's going on in society.

"Just in the process of making that world more real, you're going to have to end up having an analysis of the world and it's going to in some way have ideas about social change even if that's not the main storyline," Boots said.

EXCLUSIVE: LeToya Luckett Reveals Which Destiny's Child Member Was The FIRST To Know About Pregnancy, Gushes Over Husband & New Step-Mom Duties

 photo letoyateaser.png

LeToya Luckett-Walker is currently on cloud 9 as some many great things have flourished in her life. TheYBF.com got the chance to chop it up with mom-to-be about her pregnancy, her fine husband and her adorable step-daughter. Get the exclusive inside...

LeToya Luckett is currently living out a real-life fairytale and we're loving every minute of it.

Back in August, the former Destiny's Child singer was surprised with a super sweet proposal by her man/entrepreneur Tommicus Walker. They went out to dinner to celebrate HIS birthday and then he turned the tables by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him.

When you know what you want, you know. The couple didn't waste any time making it down the aisle either. They got married inside a mansion in Austin, Texas in December 2017 and now, they're expecting their first baby together.

Now, she's giving TheYBF.com one of the very first interviews about her pregnancy and slaying those stepmommy duties.

"It's terrifying," she told YBF correspondent James Terrell about entering into motherhood. "But, it's like God prepares you for everything."

Not only is she gearing up to be a first-time mom, she has been getting in practice with her ridiculously cute 6-year-step-daughter Madison Walker as her "mother-in-love." The new wife gushed over her fine husband, sharing details about what makes their relationship so solid and special.

"It's awesome to have someone who's equally yolked with you," LeToya told TheYBF.com. "Where y'all can pray and go before God and just, you know, have that foundation. And that's what we built our relationship on."

The 37-year-old singer said right after they tied the knot, ish was already trying to come between them. But that devil ain't stopping this show!

"I'm loving that no matter what you go through, you have a life partner there," she explained. "And I feel like within our marriage, especially within the first couple of months, stuff was coming out of no where. Just, you know. It was good stuff, bad stuff, all this stuff. But, through it all, we stayed strong though a lot of it. Then, everything that came out way made us stronger. Everything!"

Sometimes you just have to laugh out loud at the BS!

Before she got pregnant, LeToya was super busy filming "Greeleaf" episodes during the week and hitting the stage to perform in the "Set It Off" stage play on the weekends. She said her pregnancy was a total surprise for her and her husband.

"I don't know how this happened," she jokingly said.

The R&B singer also revealed which Destiny's Child member was the first to know about her pregnancy.

Peep the clip above to find out who!  Because it kinda surprised us too.

Congrats again, LeToya and Tommicus!

Also, LeToya Luckett was honored at the "Women en Blanc" Honors Brunch, powered by Lexus, recently. The event was an invitation-only, all-white brunch experience that celebrated phenomenal change agents in the areas of business, media, entertainment, sports, community, civics, politics and technology. Nice!

EXCLUSIVE: Rev. Run & Justine Simmons''All About The Washingtons' Is Almost Like A Scripted 'Run's House'

Rev. Run and Justine Simmons return to television, except this time, they are flexing their acting chops in a new, scripted Netflix comedy titled "All About The Washingtons." Find out what Rev. dished about the show to TheYBF.com inside...

"It's all about the Benjamins, what!" Nah, it's "All About The Washingtons" now!

Rev. Run and his wife Justine Simmons return to television eight years after wrapping up their MTV reality series, "Run's House." This time, they're trying their hand at acting, starring as a married couple with kids on the new comedy series "All About The Washingtons."

However, the couple is doing only so much acting as they're essentially playing themselves. The show centers around global rap superstar Joey Washington (Joseph ‘Rev Run’ Simmons) as he gears up to retire from the Hip Hop game. Sound familiar? Yep.

 photo AOW1.jpg

With dad now home to hold down the fort, it’s Mama Justine’s (Justine Simmons) time to shine, fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur. They'll explore new family dynamics with their kids - coding teacher Veronica (Kiana Ledé), music producer Wesley (Nathan Anderson), child genius Skyler (Leah Rose Randall), and young Daevon (Maceo Smedley).

Sounds like "black-ish" meets Hip Hop.

 photo AOW4.jpg

By the way, Nathan Anderson is "black-ish" star Anthony Anderson's son. Sweet!

YBF correspondentYolande caught up with Hip Hop's newest fictional family on the carpet at the Hollywood screening to get the scoop on the new Netflix series.

"We actually came up with the main concept of it." Rev told TheYBF.com. "The concept was, Justine is pitching all these ideas whereever I go. Always. I'm busy saying 'I want to retire. I just want to get on a boat and cruise the world.' And she's truly just getting started. So that's where the conflict and the funny comes in."

This literally sounds like "Run's House!" If you watched the show, Justine was always coming up with new ideas that Rev was hardly ever feeling.

The Run DMC rapper also dished on what it was like working with Anthony Anderson's son and his character on the show. Find out what he said below:

Season 1 of "All About THe Washingtons" is currently streaming on Netflix.

EXCLUSIVE BITS: Phaedra Parks, Flavor Flav Join Traci Braxton On "BFV"& Tamar Braxton Is NOT Here For The 'Ratchet & Ghetto'

$

 photo traciphaedra1.png

Phaedra Parks will be making her return to reality television and Tamar Braxton isn't here for nan none of it. Find out what family advice Phaedra spilled to TheYBF.com, plus why Tamar isn't feeling the "ratchet" and "ghetto" additions inside...

It's official!

Phaedra Parks is returning to reality television and her resurgence is causing quite a stir in the Braxton camp.

The former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star will now be appearing as a friend to Traci Braxton on WEtv's "Braxton Family Values." The Braxton Sisters are currently not on the best of terms, and apparently, will not even be appearing on upcoming episodes this season.

We shared a sneak peek at the new season last week where Trina Braxton broke down in tears about how much they've grown apart.  According to Trina, the sisters barely speak or see each other anymore and it's tearing her apart. Everyone has a lot going on in their lives and their "sister time" has been affected.

Traci has seemingly found a friend in Phaedra, formerly of "RHOA," and they have been busy on the "Braxton Family Values" promo trail.  Interestingly, it seems Traci is the only sister doing promo for the new season.

TheYBF.com chopped it up with Traci, Phaedra, and Flavor Flav (who will also appear on the new season as a friend of Traci's) in NYC at a recent press event (which, yes, we found odd in itself). We're not exactly sure the REAL reason the other sisters weren't there, although it has been said that they decided to hault filming because they're demanding more money.

As everything gets sorted out, Traci seems to be stepping away from the sister mold to do her own thing. We know her and Tamar Braxton have been at odds, especially after Tamar axed her from her tour earlier this year.

Traci's friends, Phaedra and Flav, offered up some advice on how she should handle her ongoing feud with her sisters.

"I just told her family's first. While we are there to support her, nothing comes between your sisters. You can't let the outside put anything in your head because blood is thicker than water," Phaedra told YBF correspondent Unique Chapman.

Traci said she enjoyed having her celeb friends on the show, but she misses her sisters.

 photo traciphaedra2.png

Flavor Flav was also on the "family first" wave as well. Find out what he said below:

[Click HERE if you are unable to view on mobile]

Now y'all know shade queen Tamar Braxton wasn't going to let someone new person come on the show without sharing her 2 cents about it to the masses. Even though she claims she's not even doing the show this season (she said she's only appearing in 2 episodes to support her sisters). Hmph.

Recently, Tamar met up with her sisters Trina and Towanda Braxton for a bite to eat. During their sister session, Tamar whipped out her phone to throw hella shade at "Phaedra Braxton." Oop! Apparently, she has an issue with someone coming on the show who ISN'T a "real" Braxton.

She captioned the clip, "When you are not called OR ordained!! _/ have several with a seatbelt #gtfoh #ifuseemeknowigotmycoin #pettyREALbraxtons.”

And like celebs love to do, she deleted the post.

Later, she hopped on Instagram Live to explain why she came for Phaedra, even though she claims she has no issues with her. In the clip, she said the show is now everything she's against.

"Ratchet television. Ratchet black television. This is nothing like what this whole show was designed to be. It was about five positive black women and that's not what it is anymore and I don't have time for that. And as ghetto, and as ratchet as everyone thinks I am, you can think whatever you want. But, I am nothing like that and don't want to be a part of nothing like that."

Umm...OK, Tay Tay. She said she was blindsided with news that Phaedra was being added to the show, but she doesn't feel like she's a good fit for the Braxton brand.

Chile...

Tamar has also been responding to fans on Instagram over Phaedra receiving a check from their "family" show:

Traci Braxtons' sisters have shockingly walked out on her and the show.  Now, everything's changed.  We've got an exclusive sneak peek at tonight's "Braxton Family Values"...with hardly any Braxtons.  A reunion we didn't know we wanted did happen though.  Check it inside.

Traci Braxton had to make a difficult decision recently. After talking with her sisters and family about returning to the show, things reached a pivotal moment and now, her celebrity friends are rallying around Traci.

As we told you previously, Phaedra Parks and Flavor Flav have joined the show.  But when Phaedra makes her debut tonight, we see she's also joined by Natalie Nunn, Luenell and others.

So if you're tuning in for the Braxtons, yeah, you won't be seeing most of them.  But we're curious to see how all this plays out.

Flavor Flav's ex Tiffany "New York" Pollard is also on the show.  Tiffany had to miss the recent press day due to scheduling conflicts, but things are definitely still all good between the two of them:

Can't say we expected this reunion. But it's a doozy to see.

"Braxton Family Values" airs tonight on WETV.

Ceaser and his crew are ready to take over the world – but the world’s going to put up a fight.  Starting with O'Sh*t (if you don't watch, YES, that is his name unless you're calling him by his government name, Richard).  We guess the former "Black Ink" tattoo artist still has his wife Nicki in his ear, and y'all know the rest of the crew is still calling her a scammer.

Ceasar is also expanding to New Orleans this season, after bringing the foolery in his new Atlanta shop last season, and ish is about to get realer than real.
